So I meant to write this post a while back. I was annoyed that the scanner missed spots when timewarping too fast (read: traveling over the ground too fast). But I realized that the scanner has a time-delay between scans causing the gaps, and wanted to get rid of that.

Here's a tip in case anyone would like it / hasn't figured this out yet: putting multiple Kethane scanners will allow you to timewarp faster, thus scanning a whole celestial body much more quickly. The benefit is directly related to the amount of scanners on your sattelite, as well.

You can also in the scanner configs change the detecting period to 0. This will make a single scanner as fast as any number of unmodded scanners can be. I noticed no game slowdown nor in-game benefit (AKA don't call this cheating) outside of making time warp scanning work better.

Here's the entirety of my config. You need ModuleManager installed:

When it was first devised someone called it cheating because it allowed you to time warp without 30 scanners on your ship. No amount of telling him that there was no way a reasonable person would expect that to be an intended mechanic got him to relent.

Well, if he wants to scan at 10x time acceleration, he's certainly welcome to do so. I, however, will not be joining him.
