raidernick
Thats up to you. I just feel you are gonna lose a lot of people if you don't support at least the FASA parts. OLDD I understand, Lovad I understand but going all in on a MOD that people might not want is a big gamble. Unless I don't understand what you mean by not supporting it "directly anymore".I really don't care what people want/use the most. If you are modding to please other people over yourself then you are doing it for the wrong reasons. If people like their tiny saturn parts then so be it but making my stuff look like crap to be compatible with it is not something I want to do anymore. I don't feel that I should be the one to conform all of my stuff to other people's scales. The FASA Saturn V is too small, it's as simple as that. It is NOT stock kerbal scale. It is 57% scale and is too small. Anyone who tries to defend it as scaled correctly to kerbal scale is kidding themselves. The OLDD saturn is scaled correctly but has an improperly scaled upper stage fairing and low payload capacity for its size.If people are going to whine about this I will just pull the mod from this site and keep it for personal use only. I don't need to revolve my stuff around what other people want. Like most mods here I make my stuff for myself and release it as a courtesy to the public. You ever wonder why people like dennytx don't release a lot of their stuff(he has a TON of unreleased parts)? It's because people constantly whine about it and he is happy just keeping it to use himself. Edited January 9, 2015 by raidernick

You are right you release these mods because you want to share and you allow people to you use them how they want in their saved games. You are right as well when you say that you shouldn't mod for anyone but yourself. This community often forgets that modders don't have to share what they make but do so and update mods because they enjoy sharing with the community. There is also a sense of satisfaction and gratification when people like your mods i bet. You don't get paid and certainly people don't always appreciate what you do. I was just trying to say before that FASA might be smaller than you want but its a supported mod, its a popular mod, its regularly updated, and its the go to for most people who want a Saturn V. So most people are not going to download two different types of Saturns just because they want to launch Skylab. Maybe if they are just messing around in sandbox and want to launch Skylab they will download DECQs and your Skylab. However for the person who is doing Sputnik to ISS historical launches they are looking for low memory footprint space saving solutions. Two types of Saturn's isn't going to work. People love your Skylab because its FASA compatible. They appreciate it and I am sure its now a part of many players saved games myself included. That all might seem irrelevant to you because you share out of the goodness of your heart and not to satisfy everyone but I am just trying to say how you would be helping a lot of player in spite of the fact that might not be your intentions. So you don't have to conform, you release your mods however you want whichever way you want. I don't think people are gonna whine I just think people are going to be disappointed thats all. You made a great mod and made it useable for all types of users which was great. Now you are pulling that support. So yes people might not like it, but don't pull the mod, because people might complain about you changing the support. People love Skylab and if they want it they will do whatever you say to launch it.

Virtualgenius
Is it worth talking to the other authors about the scaling issues and see if they will adjust their models to suit (you have probably already done this). I will just download the required lifter it suits and put it down to being a dependency. I am really enjoying your mods Raidernick appreciate the effort you have put into them

They are going to keep doing what they are doing I have zero input on that. But I'm not going to be telling them how to scale their mods just like people here shouldn't be telling me how to scale my stuff. Sampa
eh, whatever...I stopped trusting the Saturn V for all other actions other than launching mun/minmus missions anyway! Skylab got relegated to my Phoenix launcher
raidernick
Working on updates and variants of skylab. First I added the secondary sunshade to the station, which now has the ability to deploy or retract pieces individually, unfortunately this means firespitter has to be a dependency as the crappy stock animation module can't handle that.I also added a variant for skylab had the TRS been successful where skylab would become part of freedom space station, the original ISS concept. Unfortunately I am having troubles with the animations and I probably won't get any help with them I may end up scrapping this idea for the final release.
