no contracts!!

I just started KSP. Did a few basic things in the tech tree.

Went to mission control but no contracts are present. Do contracts pop up after your reputation increases or should they be there at the start of the game?

Also, where do you find your reputation points?

I tried to search the forums but it did not take me to my desired results.

If you start a brand new game in KSP 0.24 (your reputation being 0 at start), you will be presented with four basic contracts just at the start, visiting the Mission Control building.

Reputation is shown in the center display at the top in the space center, and with one of the apps in other modes. No precise number given, but a sliding scale, though not too difficult to figure.

More reputation = more contracts, and more difficult and rewarding.

Did you start your recent game in 'career' mode? If you started it in 'Science' or 'Sandbox' mode, then there won't be any contracts and reputation.

I believe I started in career mode.. I did play in sandbox when I first downloaded the the game.

I might just start over and see if the contracts are there..

You need to go to the contracts building first to get the initial contracts; it's small and easy to miss, got confused as well.

It's the one between the VAB and the SPH.

reputation, funds, and science should all be shown at the top of the space center screen...

are you sure you have version .24?

Sure you're looking at available contracts, instead maybe of accepted or completed ones?
