MT-16 "Goshawk" VTOL

Recommended Posts

So, after seeing several recent combat VTOLs being released, I decided to finish my own.

Meet the MU MT-16 Goshawk, a VTOL Gunship primed and ready for 0.24.

The MT-16 is both an atmospheric AND low-grav. VTOL, primarily due to it's trio of engine types.

For horizontal flight, it is equipped with a pair of brand-new O-10 RCS Engines, while it's vertical flight systems include both a basic jet and 6 ion engines.

The Goshawk is armed by default with dual high-speed rocket stacks, but can be easily retrofitted to fire other types of rockets and missiles, or free-drop bombs.

It also is equipped with emergency backup chutes, to help accommodate less experienced pilots.

This VTOL also features strong SAS and winglet-based stabilizers, enabling precise, steady control of the craft.

The current cost-per-unit of this craft (for career mode) is roughly 103,073 funds, including twin 4-shot ammo stacks.

//ACTION GROUPS://

1- Toggles the VTOL Jet.

2- Toggles O-10 RCS Engines.

3- Toggles Ions.

4- Solar Arrays (for use w/ ions)

5- Activate the emergency parachutes.

The rockets are link-fired via staging, and are pre-staged to make the craft skirmish-ready immediately.

/UPDATE/:

The "B" Variant is now officially released!

This minor upgrade to the Goshawk slightly re-arranges the weapons, moving the disk rockets slightly and adding a pair of i-beam based HE missiles.

It also is somewhat more stable when hovering due to the added weight of the ammo.

set the ion's at a 5.5 thrust limit and you didnt need the big solar arrays at full throttle

Thanks for the tip! I'll have to try that. :) The solar arrays do come in handy in-vacuum, though.

Also, I admit I got a bit of inspiration from your QC7 VTOL. That thing's awesome.
