Zoolotac Positronics:

We are proud to present our prototype orbital rendesvous computer [RinComp] to your space agency for early testing.

Please note this product is NOT APPROVED FOR USE IN ACTUAL SPACECRAFT.

Functions:

Vessel Selection: Select any vessel or debris in the same SOI

Rel Inc: Displays the difference between your vessels orbital inclination and your target\'s

Rel Vel: Displays your velocity relative to your target\'s

+ Rel Velocity: Point your vessel away from your relative velocity vector

- Rel Velocity: Point your vessel toward your relative velocity vector

+ Face Target: Point your vessel toward your target.

- Face Target: Point your vessel away from your target.

Change Log:

Version .5 Released

Changes:

*Auto Align Planes

*Auto Sync Orbits

*Auto Kill Relative Velocity

*Auto Home 5m above target vessel

*Code cleanup

The new features are turned off by default, change the automation = false line in part.cfg to automation = true to use them

New features in .5 were coded by kompressor for RendezMe

Version.4.1 released

Change Log

*Rebuilt using .14.3 references

Version .4 released

Change Log

*Synchronize Orbits Mode

*Align Planes Mode with normal and anti-normal auto-orientations

Don\'t expect any of your instruments to work if you\'re in a hyperbolic orbit

Version .3a released

A few more bugs stamped out

Change Log:

* Vessel list now limmited to current orbiting body

* Relative velocity orientations working correctly

* GUI no longer crashes when the target vessel is destroyed

Version .2a released

Change Log

.2a

* Scrollable Vessel List

* Automatic Orientator

* Still works if you have two vessels with 2km of each other (oops)

Attribution:

There are a couple lines of GUI handling code from MechJeb.

PID code from MechJeb.(.2a)

The part is a minor modification of the RCS tank.

This\'ll make rendezvous so much easier! I hope you\'ll add and expand to this.

I\'m glad to see it\'s using the GPL license. Hopefully more and more of the community will make plugins due to the amount to learn from.

I\'ll be sure to try some module coding, eventually!

How about adding another color of marker to the navball, showing the vector to intercept your current target?

Has anyone figured out how to add markers on the navball yet?

That what i mean! It will take your your space ship to a other space ship

Ahh... It may get there eventually, but a complete rendezvous autopilot is quite a ways off. I\'m concentrating on tools to make getting to another vessel easier, once those are in place automating them might be possible.

I need a way to scroll through the list of targets, I\'ve got quite a bit of stuff in orbit and the list goes off the bottom of the screen. S:|

I thought that might be a problem, it\'s on the todo list.

RinComp .2a Released:

Change Log

.2a

* Scrollable Vessel List

* Automatic Orientator

* Still works if you have two vessels with 2km of each other (oops)

I\'m not sure the relative velocity orientations are working correctly. Making sure that\'s working right is next up.

There\'s a bug when you select debris which then gets removed - the GUI stops working entirely unless you focus another ship and back again

Oh and some extra info: I got some kerbals which are just like the original crew: two AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH, one is constantly :D

Oh god, please do not use such tiny text sizes - it\'s just really, really annoying.

Sorry, it was a bit off-topic and I got used to doing this from the RP forum :/

Off-Topic also:

I\'ve managed to do my first docking. Result was initially pretty good, but then I accidentally made the ship I docked to disintegrate. First wasn\'t fatal to the kerbals, but second try to catch the capsule and return it was a complete disaster.

.3a released

A few more bugs stamped out ;D

ChangeLog:

* Vessel list now limmited to current orbiting body

* Relative velocity orientations working correctly

* GUI no longer crashes when the target vessel is destroyed

Known Bugs: Relative Velocity readout stops updating sporadically (but not that often)

This is great, but can we get some explanation of its use beyond 'as long as you are a reasonable distance away, just activate this and thrust'?

Specifically, I\'m not sure how the relative velocity and relative inclination relate to actually intercepting an orbiting object. I\'ve been trying to just get relative inclination and relative velocity as close to zero as possible, but I haven\'t been able to get closer than about 20km because burning Rel Velocity + at one point (since my Rel Vel is negative) changes my orbit such that I\'m farther away from it later. What\'s the proper procedure for actually making a rendezvous using this?

I\'m working on making things more intuitive.

In order to use RinComp you need to understand how to meet up with another vessel.

http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=7332.0

You need to do three things:

Align Planes (Rinc = 0.00)

Syn Orbits (no function)

Rendezvous (face target) (Rel Velocity)

Use face target when you are a few (~10km) away from your target. Use Rel Vel+ to match your speed to the target\'s when you get within a few hundred meters. You can then face the target again and make a slow approach and go for 'docking'.
