What's your vision of a Utopia? (No critique allowed)

It seems like the most important part of the USA is the military. Most of those funds should be split between NASA and some private space companies. Ex: Space x, Stratolaunch, Reaction engines ltd.

Frighteningly, Mitt Romney wanted to add another billion to the military budget.

The united federation of planets would be good enough for me.

The united people of Earth will be good enough for me to start with.

Also stopping the destruction of Earth and starting to repair the damage already done will be a positive step towards utopia.

Kinda agree, let's give a try to start with this if not to late and cost not already too high due to some greedness and assimilate "i want the power over ... something" here and there.

For exemple with this.

tableau.gif

wooohoooooo 4 470 000 000 that's a lot to manage when we leave 0-130, not sure i myself see the event horizon ...

NA: numbers may not be 100% accurate anyway there not false in some ways ...

(Mod team suggestion: move to sience labs xD)

The average IQ is 250, the actual benefits to humanity will follow through much quicker due to increased intelligence.

That operates under the dangerous assumption that smarter people make smarter decisions. I am always a bit careful with that, as smart people also have smarter and better ways of doing horrifying things to each other. I think general health, level of education, standard of life and comparable items will be better, as that has been pretty much proven, but I feel that politics and other things without a clear cut answer might change less for the better than you would hope.

Remember people, no critique allowed. Keep this thread stable and steady.

Also, I think this thread is at where it belongs. Since this thread contains mere speculations which don't have anything to do with science themselves, it doesn't deserve to be in the science forums.

Something like modern Germany and the Netherlands, but with less unemployment. For us, Eastern Europeans, these countries seem like Paradise on Earth. :)

I remember when I first visited the Netherlands, and I thought this is how I imagined how we will live in 2030 when I was a child.

A world without nations and money, war and greed, oppression and exploitation.

Everybody working for a few years and being given what they need (the basics plus every reasonable technological luxury).

People understanding what they really do need (not a new cellphone every few months, not a big/ger TV/car every year etc.).

As knowledge and education is free, as everything else, technology/robotics will replace most jobs, especially the dangerous and unpleasant ones - lots of jobs will be obsolete, no more bankers, tax officers, insurance sharks - some individuals with the capabilities and dedication will become doctors, nurses, pilots (astronauts!) etc. and will be required to agree to work longer in their lifetime because of the resources invested in their education, but everyone else might not have to work for more then ten to twenty years of their life - we basically would need engineers and teach everyone the basics to keep our robots happy and running. And as everything is free, we can afford to use the most clean energy sources and production methods. (Free: Does not cost money, resources will be allocated where needed.)

The remaining time we would spent on enjoying ourselves, taking long trips in nature to retain other (survival) skills just in case, take on duties we have interest in: teaching children to play instruments, coaching sports teams, working in public parks/gardens, creating art in various forms etc.

tl/dr: Humanity working for the common goal to better life for every single individual.

This will take a major psychological-evolutionary leap by mankind, but ... you asked for my Utopia, didnt you?

My Utopia is very complex and it might possible become real before this century is out.

The population of Earth doesn't exceed 1.5 billion. It is controlled by law to prevent overpopulation. Humans mainly live in the tropic and sub-tropic areas to reduce heating necessity. Test are taken when a pregnancy occurs to ensure the child is at least 80% healthy or is without chronically disorders. If it fails the suitability test, an abortion is made by law. That way the population is comprised of only healthy people with out any missing body parts and chronically diseases. Also, couples that want to create a child must pass a suitability test to make sure a genetically bad mutation doesn't get passed to future generations. People are divided into work groups:lower IQ people are workers, builders, cleaners etc., higher IQ people study science and other subjects and later do scientific research they are most interested in.

Internal combustion engines are totally eliminated, all cars run on fuel cells, as well as commercial aviation. Jet engine airplanes are used on very special occasions and in spaceplanes. Pollution is almost non-existent-only in some factories and refineries. All electriciTy in the world is generated through nuclear fusion reactors, solar farms around the Sun, wind farms and He-3 mined from the Moon. Most resources are gathered from asteroids. There is one nation on Earth, ruled by a single dictator and his advisors. People have the freedom of telling him about their opinion and can even receive feedback. This system allows to adapt the laws to the benefit of people. Since the government consists of very few people, decisions are made very fast. More than 50% of taxpayer money goes to scientific research and the Human's Space Exploration Agency. Also, the taxes are divvied so that the more you earn, the bigger your tax and in reverse so everything is fair. Most of the work is done by men, women are not permitted to work, ever. By custom their role is to take care of the children and ensure they are raised properly, as well as take care of the home and support their husbands at all times emotionally and physically. For that, they are as respected as men are.

Humans already have multiple space stations and colonies in the solar system, as well as colonies in other star systems.

PThe trips to them are one-way until the colonies manage to get the materials required to build their own.

Even if Earth dies, humans still have thousands of years to continue on on other exoplanets.

Hope you like this Utopia :)

Ideally either should get a choice.

No wars, next to no crime, no violence, everyone is happy, stable global economy, low poverty, no global starvation or water deprivation, little air pollution, large, well-funded space program.

That's how invision Kerbin and the Kerbals in my KSP fan-fiction, Kerbin One, but it's also how I would imagine a perfect society.

People can have their minds transferred into computers for free, they can create any virtual environment they want and they can communicate with other people, both those already uploaded and the ones that are still biological. It also makes them immortal (robots do maintenance work), unless they do not wish so.

Anything? Well here's your chance to dive into my horrible mind.

Brace yourself.

I have two visions of a Utopia "Universe" I suppose, coming from my mind of what I would like to see:

1: Pretty Much everything from Gods Will Be Watching, it's war torn and it sucks to be an alien but everyone else seems pretty happy with how things are.

2: A universe with no war and the poverty line is much lower, crime is virtually non-existent and life in colonies is perfectly normal and affordable.

No money, no corruption, only the ever driving need to explore. Humans would have created machines to take care of mundane things like paper work, manufacturing, farming (unless of course you wanted to do that... I like farms) It would free them up to do what really drives them. People doing what they really want to do. I would imagine at this point in my utopia, mankind would have figured out the aging process and no longer has to worry about death, but they do have to worry about the birth rate.
