The Curiosity comes with its Altas 5 launch vehicle. While Spirit/Opportunity come with some kind of ball that I made to test lithobraking, would be cool if someone could improve my desing here ;P

Structural beams! Specifically the cubic octagonal strut and modular girder segments.

Clip a cubic strut (the little one) into the rover above it's CoM, and build a skycrane above it. At least that's how I've done it with most of mine.

Thats basically what I've done with Curiosity, but the Real Opportunity rover had "airbags" and I can't replicate them lol

The footballs form the Kerbin Cup pack should be just what you are looking for. Go get them! They are bouncy as hell.

This has been tried before.. It didn't work too well and was kinda ugly.

Just use chutes or a sky crane.

Well, after a bit of work I got something to work.

Its some sort of ball that cover the whole rover why a drogue chute on top and some sepatrons to kill excess speed just before touchdown.

IMO it ended up looking quite cool. Just download the Opportunity craft, already comes with the ball, no mods needed.
