Hello there KSP Modding community!

I am new to the forums and new in general to KSP mods. I've heavily modded other games so I know what goes on with memory limits, incompatibilities, etc, so, with the new 24.2 version of KSP, I am looking for some great mods to use with the 32 bit version since it is more stable. I actually already have a ton of mods downloaded but I am having trouble deciding for a new main career mode save which ones to use, without the constant crashing, etc, so I am looking for others' suggestions who have played with these wonderful creations from these talented modders!

Primarily, what I am looking for is the best all-around experience without overloading my game, including new ways to gather science, new contracts, maybe some colonization equipment, etc, all without worrying about overloading the game, since this is obviously different than modding, say, Skyrim. As I said I have a ton downloaded, around 50 or so , but Im looking for the communities' suggestions for the best for compatibility and performance. I do have a very powerful PC, but that does not help with the limitations of 32bit KSP. Thank you everyone!

Well, I play sandbox mode so I can't help you with contracts and such. HOWEVER, I consider SpacePlane Plus (needs Firespitter) and KW Rocketry to be must haves as far as parts go. Firespitter itself along with Kerbal Aircraft Expansion is fun to play around with too But I doubt a prop plane will get you to the Mun :P Also, check the link in my sig. Lots of great mods in there.

KW Rocketry is pretty great, I messed around with it yesterday some and I really liked it. As for contracts, I really like Mission Controller and Fine Print. Actually, I had Fine Print downloaded when I saw it in the one stickied thread that your signature links to. I think I will have to download Mission Controller. Now, it seems as if I am having some trouble figuring out a good number of mods that will allow the 32bit version to remain stable, because it seems to me that 64bit is unstable in general.

I have acquired what I believe to be the essential utilities, such as Engineering Redux, Enhanced Navball, etc. So now to get the more content-rich mods, and here is a list of what I was thinking.

I have also looked into KSP-I but it seems as if its very unbalanced for 0.24 due to it just being a recompile that someone else did. None of the prices on anything are balanced and such. One other mod I looked into was Remote Tech 2 but I can not seem to find out if it works without issues in 0.24, or at least stable enough to enjoy without having to worry because it definitely looked interesting.

mechjeb is a brilliant mod, possibly the best , it has one of 2 uses :

If ,after you tried again and again, you suck at any or all of these : orbiting, maneuvering, rendevous, landing etc.

OR

you mastered all the above and want to speed things up

While I know that mechjeb is one of the most popular mods, there are two main reasons I have been somewhat avoiding it:

1. Current incompatibility with Final Frontier, which allows your Kerbals to get awarded ribbons for missions they complete. Really adds a sense of accomplishment to the game.

2. I feel that if I install it, that is all I will rely on. I am not the best at the game, not even close, considering I have only made it to both moons and back and have not attempted another planet, but I want to learn how to do that by myself.

The only reason I would get it is for rendezvous and docking, because both are a pain.
