I was going though some old files and found a good memory…at least for me. For others it caused an arms race of epic portions. Guess what might be coming out of retirement…..hint: JUDGEMENT!

Heres my fighter missile. http://www./download/uqoskib0wq1km4h/MRAF+Rocket.craft

All you have to do is action group the docking port and engine together. Then full throttle and fire.

It works better when you are further away from your target.

Thanks…I would prefer short range weapons (I like to get within 200m of my target) but I ll give it a shot (pun intended)

This was an old ship. It was used during the original naval battle thread so only those who were witg the original group would remember.

Let's put it this way though. It gave Zeke something to fear.

To scare eke must take something more powerful than his Drek. I thought I would have a fighting chance on this thread.

I was only scared because It was something new. I'm a tactics based person, and i do best when I know the enemy's ships well. Most people don't plan ahead a lot in battle, but I'm constantly going over contingenct plans during battle determening what's best for both my enemy and myself, and how to counter both :P Lots of sleepless nights just before battle - for that is when it comes down to it.

But that's why I'm 9-0, because a) i pick my battles (Rune taught me that :P ) and B) I know my enemy's ships better than I know my own. And I know mine pretty well. But the Dreks are getting old, and the more I improve them the more weak spots keep popping up in the armor, and the less range they get :P

Fortunately, the XXX has neither of those problems because it's not designed to take huge amounts of fire - it's meant to go to hell and back, and blow anything else out of the sky.

As for the Drek Twelves, they're fat, slow, and only mildly stronger than the old XIV-X. Range is a bit better, and armament is the same.

Now Mr. Tegu, you are truly scary. The fact that you have such a stable gun platform that you can visually fire with bursts of missiles means no armor is safe.

As for War Eagle's ship, I figured out I can one-shot it, even with my old missiles.

You haven't tried cracking my destroyer. :P

You can ask Mr. Tegu how it went with my older models. :)

No, believe me, I have... that thing is impenetrable. But its range is less than stellar and part count is Pyrrhic.

You're talking about the pretty replica model. I have a 400 part version with upgraded armor that EladDv couldn't crack. XD

I'm guessing that's complete annihilations, not "ugh, can't reach him"

Yeah... I remember how those battles ended between you and me

That's why I built the XXX - even though she's 1500 parts, she'll outrange anything you put up there. And my carrier plus fighters plus missiles have combined D/V of 10km/s.

Anyone up for a *game concept test-I'd like to contribute a few ideas to the thread* land/sea game of (Destroy the opposing base)?

I have an atmospheric fighter and just about nothing else until I put together a few tanks.

though I hope TextureReplacer isn't banned from use in the battles...

That's it, I quit. I entered this arms race to late and now I'm going to pay for it dearly.

There is only one way I can have a chance in battle.

I tested out your destroyer, if you want feedback on it. Its hull is strong, but it's prone to taking a lot of damage on the inside.

My most recent tanks were built in 0.24. I still think they'll work well against others of similar weight, but if land battles go the way space battles have, they'll perform poorly against large enemies. If you want to test them out, they're in my company thread.

I've been getting a little tired of the arms race, actually. Sort of like the cold war, everyone talks about fighting and builds better military but nothing really happens. Sure, I'm guilty of some of it by asking or accepting battles then being gone for a while. I bet a lot of us could win a battle against almost anyone if we went first. And one mistake (failing to make a kill in a turn) would be the end of it. I'm probably going to take a break from battle club for a while.

I've stopped battling because I focus on aesthetics with all my craft. They were just getting annihilated.

Sure I could turn them into flying armour blocks made of 50% SRBs with 500m/s range but then they would look the same as every other craft in this thread.

I've started converting them to civilian motherships instead. Taking off all the armour and half the engines keeps the same TWR while doubling the range. They look nicer as well. I'm already planning my first Duna landing and return using a modernised Co-1 corvette.

I can vouch for that. :)

They were very, very nice crafts, just unarmored in unfortunate places.

HEY! *looks at craft* Yeah, you're kinda right.

Make a post and I will challenge you :) I have new tanks

@ astec: I have 2 aircraft at the moment, though I lack any base design or tanks. The fighters themselves are fairly weak, however, they're powerful aggressor crafts. Using similar ammunition technology to my spaceships, they can penetrate a fair amount of armor (In my tests, they can annihilate an un-armored colony)

I thought about the battle being on Laythe.

Phillorf Kerman is standing in the middle of the fighters (using the BioSuits' suit texture and TextureReplacer V. 2.2)

You still dont know the inside-outs of my latest line of ships, which are being rearmed. The ones in our still-to-be-continued battle?

yeah, are we gonna finish that? I think it's your turn. and those things are indeed tough.
