.1: The SKP Foundation constructs Containment Sites worldwide and keeps various items of insanity-causing powers locked in them. Most breaches of Kontainment are caught quickly, but one particularly nasty outbreak of SKP-217 (a mysterious virus that converts kerbals' flesh into rocket parts) fails to be rekontained after an incident involving an ornery molten salt reactor and a very powerful carbon dioxide laser. Within a month, an XK-class End-Of-The-World scenario is in full swing, and most of the Kerbal population has been converted to evil rocket cyborg kerbals. trochee fixation, anyone? In a surprise display, the Global Occult Koalition tries to salvage the situation with six strategically-placed keostationary railguns, but it's already too late- the SKP-217-infected kerbals have already launched into orbit and overtaken the keostationary satellite ring. The remaining living Kerbals on the SKP Foundation's orbiting facilities manage to escape to a large inertial-fusion-powered transit vehicle still untouched by the cyborg kerbals, board it, and start burning for Laythe. There, perhaps, they can find a way to salvage the kerbal race.

While aboard the ship, a team of scientists begin working on Glitch Theory, which will attempt to explain the anomalies and perhaps find a way to restore the universe to its original, bug-free state.

The ship arrives at Laythe and bases are set up. Colony status: Approx. 1,000 Survivors

.1: Second fails to discover any habitable planets in the Labker-10A system, although a particularly rich source of Karbonite is discovered on Labker-10A 1. Second deploys an orbiting probe, but it is unable to land and gather surface data due to the thick coma of gaseous Karbonite surrounding the planet.

Kerbals learn from the KIONICLE that space exploration in the Jool system has been prohibitively difficult of late due to what is dubbed the "Great Space Beast." Most of the Kerbals dismiss this as a myth, but it hits close to home for the descendants of the First crew and the crews of several ships that have historically been lost to mysterious forces in the darkness. A flock of robotic probes is launched into various orbits around Jool to investigate and search for anomalies.

You ninja'd me!

The KIONICLES's cure fails. Furthermore, they discover that they are not, in fact, immune to SKP-217, and begin turning evil and growing rocket appendages. The Global Occult Koalition's last remaining orbital railgun in the Joolian system recognizes them as threats and begins attacking them.

The SKP Foundation discovers an object known as a 'quicksave.' They enact what is codenamed "Contingency F9-Hold", ultimately resetting the universe 41 years back in time, just after Caroline Kerman turned up missing in the Kerberture Laboratories karbonite mine, and long before mysterious mods took over the solar system.

.1 (occupying timeline segment analogous to 4030): A mysterious object is detected approaching the edges of the Kuiper Belt. A high-speed nuclear-powered probe is launched to rendezvous with it.

the researchers into glitch theory are disbanded following the arrival of non-mod KIONICLES from another solar system and the return of mr walrus and the fact that the SKP Quicksave has cleared up the mods anyway.

the laythe coloy is discovrd to be a glitch and shut down.

k-syndrome has evolved out of the test samples kept and has kescpae kand kinfecte the kopulation
