Recovery of dropped stages - recommendations

I can see a couple of mods about which allow for the recovery of dropped stages - looks like StageRecovery and DebRefund. I was wondering which one people would recommend as the best one, or indeed if there's another I've missed kicking about.

Personal fave so far is FMRS:

It juggles ships and save files to let you control the stages all the way to the ground then jump back to the upper stage and carry on. It's more work than just bolting a hundred parachutes onto every stage and getting them for free. On the other hand (and why I like it) because you get full control over each stage you can have hybrid and composite ships - heavylift plane to take a rocket up to altitude for example. Fly the plane up, separate, fly the plane down and land, skip back to your rocket at the moment of separation, do your mission and recover both ships.

That's pretty cool. Might give it a try. Has anyone had any issues with these sorts of mods corrupting saves? I know that there were some historical issues with Stage Recovery which seem to have been fixed.

I've been using DebRefund but am leaning toward StageRecovery for several reasons:

• VAB tool to aid in placing chutes.
  
• Recovery percentage and other factors are easily configurable in-game.
  
• Simulated Powered Landings. Screw chutes. I'm tossing a probe core on this and letting it land on the thruster!
  
• Magico watches my videos (and I watch his).
