Strengthening problems

At the moment this plane is sturdy enough and i am very happy with the overall design it is just the amount of parts that bothers me (over 500)

Basically my problem is i want it to have more structural integrity than it currently does using less internal/external struts.

If you can get the design down to around 400 parts that would be awesome because i can not seem to do it without the thing destroying itself, as it is using the design like it is my SSTO version is looking at being over 700 parts, wanting that to stay under 500.

Anyone think they are up to the challenge?

Because it is beyond me.

On a side note, any flaws you see that you think you can fix, go for it, all criticism is good criticism when you are trying to make perfection, i mean this thing is still a prototype.

(Note this is not an SSTO if you were wondering, It will go to space with the turbo jet engines (around 125km is the highest i have had it after bouncing off the atmosphere) this is still in the early stages of development for perfecting my SSTO design, this is a hypersonic sub orbital super glider, The SSTO version is not even out of the hanger yet. The end product i want to be able to get into space without using rocket engines, then orbit using fuel on board with plenty to spare)

If you are wondering, yes there are struts running right through the entire plane to add strength, if you can find a way to do away with these you are the real MVP.

on another note feel free to fly it, on take off do not put the brakes on it will smash its nose into the ground, hold s down and it will lift off at 30m/s, you can not break the engines/tail plane by doing this so do not stress, after that go for it, you will never need SAS in this plane it is 100% unstallable in any direction and very easy to maneuver.

So its not all hard work, you get the bonus of watching this thing smash into the VAB when you mess up some acrobatic awesomeness on test fights for structural integrity lol, and it smashes gloriously.

This is a test design, perfecting the wings and strengthening technique.

only thing it can do is be fun to fly around.

now that you mention it the only reason it has 3 cockpits is originally it had 6 engines not 10 (still trying to figure out what engines i should use on the ssto, stuck between using both turbojets and rapiers or just rapiers) and i had to add extra weight to the front, extra kerbals seemed like a good thing to put there.

my SSTO versions of these planes are not even into the 4 wing stage yet, they all still have 2, before i start them this thing needs to be perfect.

ultimately i want 1 for transporting 20 kerbals to a 500km orbit and back and one for single stage to mun and a small one for getting a kerbal somewhere fast/rescue missions

Basically air hogs that get to space mainly on oxygen with more than enough delta v to do what you want.

Does it have to have 10 engines? I reduced it to 6.

Not as fast, but it doesn't need as many intakes.

276 parts

Hmm it depends where the design goes for the 10 engines, one design i can see needing all 10 for sure, being that they will be swapped out for rapiers and nukes, but really nah its not important at all.

bloody awesome i appreciate your effort man +rep

ill go check out what you did now

Edit:

Well that is weird, telling me its not compatible with my version of ksp, ill have to try it on my other pc, have a few different versions of the game on there lol, ill let you know what i think when i get the thing working :) (I can guess that im going to like it, i find myself bad at keeping part counts low lol)
