Seriously, every other post includes someone saying something about or alluding to the hype-whatever.

It's really getting on my nerves, i can't believe people find it funny, and why they are not being punished for being completely offtopic?

It's just harmless fun. There is a lot of excitement about the features of any upcoming release, and with the limited information we can get about them there's bound to be some speculation and hype. And the hype is good for the game, it builds interest. Sorry if it's a thing you don't enjoy, but I wouldn't expect it to start being moderated if its confined to a couple of threads.

I'm not some old guy hating on anyone who's having fun - but it's gone from banter to pathetic ownership of different types of vehicular hype, seriously pages of posts are nothing but hash tags and "i own the hype train".

You're talking about one poster in particular, I think. Just add him to your ignore list. Not an ideal solution but I don't think the #HypeVehicle thing is going away any time soon, maybe you can hide the worst of it.

It really just lowers the tone of the forum, it's almost as bad as the guy who went around for 2 weeks relating every thread to his glorious boat.

I have to admit, I'm inclined to agree... The recent forum "Game" is OK for a bit of fun 'cos you can just ignore that thread if you don't want to partake but the other "Hype" thread postings are becoming rather tedious to sift through when all you want is a bit of info on the game.

Meh, those threads get noisy one way or the other, whether it's #HypeVehicle-related or just "can't wait"-style posts. You could pm a mod about it to see if they want to do something, they might not be aware that some users are finding it a problem.

As I say, I completely understand and if it was a week or two before release I'd let it go./ its just been everywhere for weeks now. The joke has died, and ITE just not relevant.

It's certainly not the first forum fad like this we've had, and it probably won't be the last. That said, if any particular post strikes you as disruptive, topic-derailing, or otherwise excessively damaging to the overall signal-to-noise ratio of a given topic, please use the Post Reporting feature (the little triangle with the "!" overlaid on top of it along the bottom left of the post) to bring it to our attention, just as you would for any other post of that nature
