Rover Systems for Atmospheric Applications (Generator, Motor, Wheels)

I am absolutely useless when it comes to modding, and I really like making little buggies for Kerbin use. I feel that stock parts are not enough to meet my requirements.

So these are my requests:

GENERATOR RESOLVED. Created my own part with Generic Resource Converter

A motor that uses liquidfuel and intakeAir to hold and generate ElectricCharge and new resource, Torque, which is used by rover wheels for more efficient in-atmosphere roving, and two sets of wheels to go along with it. Again, the motors need their own intakes. I need three:

A small one for little rovers (the size of a PB-Nuk)

A medium one for manned rovers (the size of 3 Oscar-B fuel tanks in a line)

A large one for mobile bases (About as big as the RT-10 SRB)

They should be like the PB-Nuk: oblong with radial and inline attachment options.

And the wheels:

Just use the same model and animations as the stock wheels, just powered by Torque instead of ElectricCharge.

For all of the above requests:

Models don't need to be complicated. Little textured cylinders, boxes or even stock models are just fine.

Feel free to use plugins or partmodules from other mods, as long as they're standalone and don't conflict with other mods.

Tune the .cfg until consumption and output are to your liking. I can adjust them myself if I feel like it's OP.

Thanks for your time!

The Universal Storage mod contains a few parts that mix fuels together to generate electricity, if I remember correctly. It's been a few months since I used it. I'm sure someone else here can correct me, but that mod might be a good place to look for your alternate power needs.

So I looked into Universal Storage- it actually uses a partmodule called Generic Resource Converter. A little digging and it turns out that GRC has a recent release. I made a part with it to see if I could get it to work. And it does!

I'll be doing some tuning and improvements in the future. For now, Thank you, SolNG! Now I finally have a use for those Firespitter Jerrycans!

Hi , just curious as to why changing the resource from EC to charge allegedly makes thing better, aside from the fact the most of the rovers wheels out there for terrestrial use would really be powered by hydraulic motors anyway. Not saying you shouldn't ofc just wondering why when a properly set up APU ( auxiliary power unit) would provide EC on demand or by throttle control. As you have no objection to plugins maybe check out the Kerbal Foundries thread a s a range of such power units are shortly to be released, and theres always my version which will come out at the same time, for those of a more agricultural leanings and it require no hacky universal resource generators, no EC, no fuel = no engine start = no EC .

Also what do you really want in wheels , all the stock ones are less than amazing, although reworked versions can be transformed once thrown back to unity.
