Why are there no mods to add modern airframes?

Yay KSP is all about creativity and making your own vehicles... until you want to replicate all the cool stuff PEOPLE have made. I'm tired of sub-par replicas from the SPH that look half the part and function 1/4 the part. I've been searching forever for a mod that replicates modern fighter, attack, and cargo aircraft without all that hokey kerbal shenanigan-ery. A mod that at least provides some decent aircraft parts would be alright, but even then we get sci-fi spaceplane stuff or junk from WWI/WWII (looking at you, Firespitter).

You're not exactly endearing yourself to any modders who might take up your cause.

As frustrated you might be with the present selection of aerospace parts in KSP, there's no need to resort to snipes and harassment.

Modders generally make add-on parts based on the following criteria:

- Their personal interest / overall vision they have for their add-on packs

- The amount of flexibility in which the parts can be used and made compatible with parts from other add-on packs; fuselages are often designed to common diameters, while wings and control surfaces are made to be surface attached

Add-ons that accurately replicate real-life aircraft are few and far and between because they fail to meet either criteria. For instance, a number of users have tried to convert real-life modern fighter jet models into something that could be used for KSP, and the recurring problem was that the parts only looked good when used together with other parts from the same pack - essentially, the parts were one-trick ponies unusable elsewhere. On the other hand, with creative part selection and positioning, the stock C7 Aerospace, the B9 Aerospace mod and many other add-on parts packs designed to fit the Kerbal aesthetic can be used to easily make "good enough" representations of real aircraft.

I believe you owe the modding community (especially Snjo, Bac9, Taverious and K3_Chris) a sincere apology for your extremely insulting remarks.

It includes two really nice cockpits, along with limited modern airframe parts, including fuselages and wings. Very cool.

Also, I don't think he was insulting Firespitter itself, I think he was insulting WWI and WWII era aircraft.
