Imagine I start professing my love of cotton candy. It's in my user title, my signature, I change my username to involve cotton candy, I somehow manage to reference cotton candy in about one of every three posts I make. People would quickly start to complain that I'm filling up the forum with off-topic cotton candy chatter, even if they like cotton candy, because this isn't a forum about cotton candy. It would be foolish for me to accuse those people of hating cotton candy when they aren't complaining about cotton candy at all, just about me spamming up the place with cotton candy references.
