Patch broke my save

Last thread evaporated so trying again.

The recent patch has rendered my game unplayable. Limited money and no missions available so had to cheat to get extra cash. Also, problems with recovering missions launched pre-patch, recovery dialogue appears but ship remains in game. Recover button in tracking station does nothing.

Any ideas?

Yes, I have an idea: that if it was a "broken patch", the many experienced testers and players that already tried it would have reported the same. Instead, I suspect you did something horribly wrong with the game.

But, without proper information (as required in this guide for filling a support request) it may be impossible to understand where to start looking about this issue you have.

If you've updated and are continuing to use a save file from before the update, things may very well end up a little crooked. When rebalancing happens and new features are introduced, it's difficult to keep the balance as it ought to be for older saves.

The same thing happened to me yesterday. But I was able to restore everything by reloading my quicksave.

Nope, just running KSP as normal for the first time since latest patch. To clarify, the issue exists will any vessel launched pre or post patch, It says recovered but if you look in tracking station it's still there.
