Well... the obvious first step is to use the turbojets instead of basic jets (higher thrust).

The second thing I would do would be to install FAR aerodynamics (Thinner, more realistic atmosphere at the cost of requiring much more stable, structurally sound craft. Unless you already have it installed, that is. Your screen in the corner covers the spot where the icon would normally appear).

If you don't want FAR, just minimize your craft's weight, as the stock drag model is based off mass.

I had FAR at one point but recently dumped most my mods so I could stabilize the game. I may install NEAR, but FAR may not make it back in my rounds as of yet. But I do need to switch those engines....once I correct my flight problem lol

I thought this was only true if you were going high and fast. At least from my experience, it's easier to take off with basic jets than it is with turbojets.
