Hey! I need to suggest a Minor thing,Please Please PLEASE! Implement the Ability to assign kerbals to EVA seats,I dont know if this was alrealdy a suggested feature many times,But If so,Close this thread,thanks!

There was a Mod for this,But sadly the Creator discontinued it due to spaceport shutting down,And im hoping squad adds this in.

All of my yeses! I'm not sure how it would work. As far as I can tell, the mod made the seat a "cockpit" classifaction, which disallows the kerbals to be flung out... or something like that? That's how it would work?

What I really hate is when you send unmanned rescue pod to take crashed kerbals back home and when you're about to land you realise, that command pod IS FRICKIN' FULL WITH KERBALS INSIDE, DESPITE THE FACT, THAT I CLEARED IT WHEN I WAS IN VAB...

I hate it when that happens, especially when the three oranges get in after I carefully chose a specific crew. Not cool, SQUAD. Not cool.

I think that the ability to edit the crew composition while the rocket is on the launchpad instead of having it to do it in the VAB or the pre-launch dialog would be awesome.

It's ridiculous what you need to do to test a manned rover. The EAS-1 can't be a starting part (why?), and then you need to awkwardly attach a usually far larger pod to it with a separator whose only function is for the Kerbal to step out of and then separate the pod from the rover. It makes the back & forth of design really tedious.

EAS-1s should be able to be used as a starting "pod" and automatically come with a Kerbal like you would man/unman any other pod.

Yes. We need this. It's incredibly annoying to have to rig up a whole command pod - attachment - separator system and EVA the kerbal every time you test it. And of course, the crew gets reset every freaking time you revert

For a part to be ble to be used as a root part, it needs to allow both node and surface attachment. The seat certainly doesn't allow the first, and possibly doesn't allow the second. I haven't tried attaching anything to them yet so I can't remember.

I don't use many seats but I am a fan of testing thoroughly, this idea would make testing seat-only craft much easier.

Yup, definitely a useful feature that if I recall correctly was held back when seats were implemented due to some technical issues. And the automatic crew assigning bug can be a pain too.. dumping stowaway Kerbals just after launch of a rescue mission is not an unknown scenario to me.
