Thermometer test doesn't add up.

I did a test with thermometers and the results dont make any sense.

Could someone explain what is going on here.

What is going on here is that the temperature system is a place holder and doesn't actually work.

The other science instruments work properly, but the science system is a relatively new addition to the game and is still be actively tweaked.

Yes, the temp system is more or less based on where you are and to some extent where the sun is. Other effects aren't really modeled yet. And even the ones that are aren't necessarily common sense.
