KSP 0.25.0.642 and Mods

Greetings.

I've just purchased KSP from Steam and it installed version 0.25.0.642.

The problem is ... I can't use properly ANY of the mods (from Chatterer to MechJeb to anything else).

They simply don't work properly or at all.

Maybe someone of you have the same problem and can help me out with this problem.

I saw many videos on YouTube with mods and version 0.25 but I can't understand why no one seems to use version 0.25.0.642.

Please, let me know, if you can.

0.25.0.642 is the latest version and a lot of mods have already been updated to use it and they work fine. This thread has a list of mods that do (and a few that don't) work with 0.25.

Your problem is probably caused by incorrect installation of the mods. Please make sure you are following the instructions included with each mod (or in the mod's threads). If you still have problems then please follow the instructions in the "How to get support" sticky thread in this forum (particularly the bit about listing the mods and their versions and supplying an output_log.txt/player.log file).

I tried several things and then, just for understand ... I tried Chatterer or MechJeb, one at at time.

I just copy the files under the GameData folder.

Take Chatterer, for example, it's not so complex to use it and, as it states, it should start doing its job as soon as I get to the launch pad and I should find a button on the toolbar.

Well, nothing happens when I do those things

Are you on windows? Try copying the KSP folder out of steam and into, like, C:|Games

Programs in Program Files\ are restricted, and there's often been an issue where they can't load plugins.

First of all, make sure that all the mods you are trying to use are up-to-date and that you have downloaded the latest Module Manager (2.5.1).

Download the Toolbar (Toolbar 1.7.7), seeing as some of the mods use the toolbar for their UI buttons.

When you extract the mods from 7z or Winrar (whichever you are using), make sure you are extracting them into the proper location.

My computer -> C: -> Program files (x86) ->Steam -> Steam apps -> common -> Kerbal Space Program -> Game data <--(extract all the mods into here)

...and 0.25.0.642 IS 0.25

thanks a lot for your kind support, especially NathanKell. In fact, following this suggestion:

I decided to try it out but before doing anything ... I realized that Steam does not start KSP in Administration Mode

That was the issue, preventing mods to be used.

I fixed this and now all work perfectly.
