What are those two indicators on GUI altimeter for?

Sorry if this is answered somewhere... Couldn't find it on the wiki or by searching (even with Google! Maybe these aren't called indicators...)

There is a strange satisfaction I get when people notice the small features.

The altimeter lock LED has 4 states:

Black: Vessel situation is unstable and saving/leaving flight isn't possible.

Orange: Vessel situation is stable, but leaving/saving isn't allowed because of some constraint (under acceleration, on a ladder, moving over terrain...).

Blue: Vessel situation is stable. Saving is possible and you are allowed to return to KSC.

Green: Vessel situation is stable and you are Landed or Splashed down at Kerbin. Leaving to KSC and Recovery options are available.

For what you wrote/found, I guess the "altimeter lock led" is that little upside down triangle, right? What about the bigger round led below it?

And, HOW did you find this on reddit? I've just put parts of ANSWER on Google and it found nothing... Strange!

The light used to indicate something about descent rate, but as best I'm aware it's been broken since before the Mün was implemented.

How about now? I notice that the round light next to the altimeter changes colours.

Changes colors? It's always either off or orange for me. It indicates that your descent rate is faster than 15 m/s.
