Ksp early adopters?

Recommended Posts

If you bought KSP before May 2013 you have a different license than those who bought after then, whether through Steam or the KSP store. Licenses bought before then include free access to all subsequent expansion packs, those who bought later will have to pay for that content if it is ever released.

I don't use Steam, but my guess would be you bought before May 2013 and the "Early Adopters" bit is to differentiate it from the later purchases so you can get the free DLC.

Do you think that SQUAD will ever have paid DLC's? I doubt it.

No idea. There was some discussion of expansion packs back when that policy was made, but who can say what is planned for the future? Hence the "if it is ever released" in the quoted post.

Unless you are distinguishing between expansion packs and microtransaction smaller DLC; in that case I agree that there likely won't be a kerbal equivalent of horse armor.

Squad aren't planning any paid DLC, like packs of rocket parts or Kerbal hats or whatever, but do want to revisit KSP later on and make an expansion pack or two.

Being gamers themselves they don't like the current trend of trying to monetise a handful of cosmetic parts (looking at you EA and the Sims)

Think of BroodWar for StarCraft, but with rockets and Kerbals instead of Zerg :)
