I won't be able to help you, but I can tell you how to get the help you need and want -- provide logs, and make sure Firespitter and Interstellar Fuel Switch (among other plugins) are up to date. Stali or one of the other modders will take a look at your log file end either tell you how to fix it (if for some reason the problem is on your end) or they'll fix it in the next release of the mod (if the problem is a bug in the mod that they might have missed).

At this stage the mod is currently not in achive development until November when @K.Yeon returns.  That being said i am making a note of suggestions to forward to him once he returns. One thing though that the custodial team and I would like to do is merge that cockpit with its adapter part but it is low on the list of priorities. The tail was removed from the old J parts as it had no ramp, K.Yen scrapped that series before completing it.

Another thing we are considering is adding adapters to make more of the parts interchangeable with each other but again this is low on the priority list.

Thank you for your suggestions and they have been noted.

appreciate the reply. This is tied for my top 3 mods along with suicidal insanity's mk2/3 and KSPI-E; the better it gets, the better all of modded KSP gets in my opinion.

but seriously, keep up the good work :3

I've had this problem before. it has to do with conflicting patches. Try COMPLETELY removing Interstellar Fuels, then downloading and installing the latest version. also, make sure you don't have any old "all fuels to all tanks" IF patches, they can mess with mod specific IF patches like the one in OPT.

Hey I'm having a problem with this most favorite mod of mine. I just caved and updated KSP 1.1.3 (I didn't want to because mod compatibility is kaput). When I checked out OPT, the cockpits all work. But the fuel tanks, crew tanks, and science tanks for the J,K,L, and a couple others did not work. Not only for animations when applicable, but also to select fuel types and what not. They were just a bunch of static place holder parts. Has anyone had this problem, any fixes? EDIT: Did some reading on these pages and Firespitter could be a problem but its up to date as far as I can tell. I downloaded everything straight off SpaceDock just now to make sure I had the latest OPT.

As has been repeated MANY times, if you cannot fuel your tanks then it means your firespitter is NOT up to date.

Edit: the firespitter bundled with OPT on spacedock is not for 1.1.3 but for 1.1.1. When I released 1.8.1.2, ksp 1.1.3 did not exist yet.

This mod is basically for parts, it does use Firespitter for the fuel switching options and while that is included with this mod for completeness, it is always best to go directly to the source for the latest files, especially if you're having problems.

Can anyone help me figure out why the demo version refuses to work on my install? I have reinstalled the mod four times and redownloaded KSP. Yet it still refuses to work. I have the latest version of IFS installed, as well as module manager, but still NONE and I mean NONE of the parts refused to show up in my otherwise stock install. ;.; I finally gave up the idea of using OPT in my 1.1.3 install for now.;.; So I decided to try downloading B9 Aerospace and for some arcane reason, that persuaded the large landing gear (which looks awesome, by the way) to show up.  Does anybody know what is wrong with my install? I know I for sure installed the mod correctly. That's the first thing I checked. I think I've checked that something like ten times now. I'm beginning to think the Kraken has taken up a permanent living space in my computer or something.

I'm running 1.1.3, by the way.

I need some things from you.

1) your game logs.

2) screenshot of your OPT folder that is within your gamedata folder

3) make sure you have the LATEST version of Firespitter

Well if it has been repeated MANY times, I'm not going to look through 78 pages of comments to find a needle in a haystack. I feel like if its that much of an issue it needs to be in bold letters on the front page. Not trying to sound snarky though. I updated my KSP a couple days ago and its literally barely playable. Joint Reinforcement, MechJeb, plug ins like FireSpitter, even default game mechanics like SAS and other physics are just atrocious. I love the look and feel of 1.1.3 but it was not ready for release. Thanks for confirming what I suspected though :) I will go hunt down that FireSpitter.

I have no control over the front page, I am not the original poster of it. And the version on spacedock was released at KSP 1.1.2, I thought it was for 1.1.1. At any rate spacedock does show the following warning.

Outdated Mod

This mod is not known to work with the latest version of Kerbal Space Program. Proceed with caution.

Thank you for the heads up though, I have updated the spacedock page to state that the version of firespitter bundled in the mod is not compatible with 1.1.3

We have only some minor things to do before we can release OPT 1.8.5 so hopefully it will be soon.

And here’s the log (I apologize in advance for the amount of content there is to sift through, I have a lot of mods right now):

I can already see your problem.

rename OPT-master to OPT

I think someone suggested to you within the last few days to double check your folder names. Having the OPT folder as OPT-master means NONE of the parts will show as the folder the cfg files are calling for does NOT exist.

Wow. Okay. Is it really that simple? I feel like an idiot. Well, here goes!

I guess I naturally figured that the name that I downloaded was correct. It’s loading.

That makes sense though.

your game should be GameData\OPT

you should see everything in that screenshot as it is with the exception of the .git folder which is unique to my computer only.

I’d swear, loading has never taken this long! Fewer errors though.

YES IT WORKED!!!! THANK YOU!! Now to find a suitable wall… {proceeds to bang head against wall repeatedly}

Now I can finally do the glitch hunting I’ve been wanting to do! And put OPT space planes inside B9 hangars!

its a lot of parts being added. I took a look at your log anyway even though I didn't need to and EVERY OPT model is showing the same error.

The first line is the config file and its CURRENT location in the file structure and then in the second line is WHAT the cfg is wanting loaded. Notice the file path that the cfg is living in vs the file path of the model it wants loaded.  This is why none of the models loaded for you at all.

EDIT: you have the EXACT SAME ISSUE with the LLL stuff too. so you may want to check all the cfg files for them and make sure they all have the correct file paths

Not without completely reuploading the entire mod. I haven't seen any other mod that does a full re-upload just because a dependency gets updated, only exception to this is if the mod needs to be updated because it doesn't work with the new version of the dependency.

Evident in your post are a couple of atrocious misunderstandings, FYI.

1. The fact that the issue with FireSpitter has been repeated many times means it is not a needle in a haystack; it is common. It's likely that you would have found an answer to your question without much effort, because it is common, and because you don't have to look through 78 pages to find it: only the last couple of pages in order to see if someone else has asked the same thing. The issue is that it is clear from your question that you didn't take the initiative in that respect.

2. The forum name of the person currently updating this mod is stali79. The name of the person who originally made this mod and posted the thread is K.Yeon. That means the first post of the thread does not belong to stali79. As a result, so far as I know, he cannot simply update the post on the first page.

3. It seems like you have a fundamental misconception of what to expect when updating KSP, because it appears you think KJR, MechJeb, etc. are a part of it - they are not. Squad is responsible for KSP, but they have no control over third-party modifications to the game. As third-party mods, KJR, MechJeb, FireSpitter and such must be adapted to the base game when it changes, not the other way around. You will forever be disappointed if you expect KSP and third-party mods (or any program and third-party mods) to continue functioning together when a bunch of code in the game is changed. When they do keep working well together, it's an unexpectedly happy occurrence. In light of all of that, what you say bout 1.1.3 not being ready for release doesn't make sense - except if you had mentioned wheels, of course, or minor bugs that persist in 1.1.3. Still, in the case of wheels, at least, Squad did the best with what was actually possible given their tools.

I hope that helps you understand what you are asking for and why you would receive a peevish response on the ol' internet.

Seems like a pretty simple fix to a pretty common problem, currently it seems like every third post is asking about the fuel tanks.

Well, they do have a point. The FS plugin is a bit hard to find nowadays (at least for me) so I prefer to use Interstellar Fuel Switch. Much nicer plugin, and easy to find, since it's not also a parts pack.
