Driving Through Admin Center Pond

this is because the pond is not actual water, just textured like it. so while it looks like you are driving normally underwater, you are in fact driving through textured air. (if you can call it air with the stock aerodynamic model:P)

So, no splashed in science , I assume ? :(

It is because the pool is actually full of admin water, water that has been blessed by the admins. The admin building is the main Kerbal place of worship, because they control the funding for boosters.

the only reason why things don't sink in the kerbin oceans and just float - even metal girders - is due to the extreme salinity of the water. The pond is made of kerbal loved-ones tears so is a lot less salty.

If they make it function like actual water, I bet there will be all sorts of challenges involving splashing down in it, from Munar returns and the like. :)

Landing an saturn 5 style rocket in it at 20 m/s would look pretty stupid as the rocket will break up and disappear leaving only the pod.

I doubt they model the depth of the water you splash down in, so it would be possible. It would be weird. "After you renter, it is important you land in this 3 foot deep pond!"
