Bring back the launch tower

It doesn't make sense for our pilots to appear in their capsule on the launch pad and NOT have a launch tower to carry them up to their rockets. I think a launch tower of some kind, that takes kerbals up to the command pod, should be re-added in the game.

I think the launch tower should be a part for the add on. It would provide a launch clamp on the nose of the vessel and scale to fit it.

Launch Towers in the way FASA does it are better in my opinion. You DO remember why it was removed, right?

It is odd there is a crawlerway but no crawler to go along it.

it could be some kind of large launch clamp that you add as a part in the VAB.

I certainly do. I still get angry whenever I see it. Would be even worse now that buildings are destructible.

Launch clamps are 100x better. Maybe they could use some more variety in shape, size and color, but I'd hate for an actual launch tower building to return.

No thanks, it was taken off for a reason.

The only way to bring it back for "believability" would ask to plan a special case for those who want to build crazy contraption.

Limits the width of rockets. Also was an obstruction that some, er, less throroughly engineered rockets would hit during that critical first few seconds of flight. Basically just got in the way while serving no functional purpose.

I think you can see it at KSC 2.

too big rockets kept bumping into it, ergo most launches were a lottery outside the players control

You can see it around midnight. But don't put any Kerbals on it, because they'll never come back again.

Makes sense. From what I hear in real life, launch towers are also an issue; I remember watching shuttle launches growing up and hearing the people over the radio commenting that the shuttle "has cleared the launch tower." I've always assumed that they were saying that because they were concerned the shuttle would clip the launch tower.
