Lazor missile station idea

Would it be possible, with the Lazor guided flight mod, to make a space station that shoots missiles on to the surface of a planet? Or would it be too long of a distance?

This stemmed from an idea for a multiplayer (if there even is a way to make multiplayer) challenge. The idea was that you have satellites or something around planets, you have control of your team, then try to obliterate the other.

So if that would be possible, please tell me.

there once was a mod that extended the load range to some obscenely large number as to make unloading practically impossible, it is incompatible now.

I think the Lazor mod can extend the load range.
