Minmus Easter Egg or just texture error?

I am playing on super hard mode and if I tried to land here, I would have been broke. So I quickly took a picture and took note of the co-ordinates.

(If there is an easier way to take co-ordinates please let me know)

It almost looks like a river or something on Minmus.

Unless its just a texture blip.

Take note under my red drawn line and my arrows ...it was pretty long.

Polygon rips like that are all over every last body, and especially bad near the poles. It can't be helped, as the entire terrain generation system hinges on "circling the square" in 3D, "spherizing the cube". You always get errors when you do that, especially in the polar regions.

It's a texture blip. Or more actually, a glitch in the terrain mesh. But, they still can be fun to find. It's the closest thing KSP offers to gaps in the fabric of reality.

You can get real rifts in the ground and see the stars through them. Found one at Minmus north pole.

Getting below the surface layer will kill you but you can get under the ground who poke up.

I can confirm, that errors like this are present nearly everywhere. I've seen plenty of them on the Mün as well.

Regarding coordinates: I'm a huge fan of VOID and its HUD feature. If you don't know it yet, give it a try. But be warned: It includes a build help HUD, that will calculate dV and TWR values for you, so if you don't want to spoil the fun of playing with spreadsheets while designing your rockets, don't use it or disable the build help HUD feature in the VOID settings. Also, the in-flight HUD shows you the remaining dV at any time, kind of removing the thrill of not knowing if a mission still has enough fuel to makes it back home. Furthermore, you don't need to use IVA any more to see the radar altitude reading, since VOID can show it in the HUD (also for unmanned probes, making landing those significantly easier). Of course you can hide this info as well, if you like.
