After you RTB from the mun...

1) Try getting an escape trajectory, and then after you are free of Kerbin\'s SOE, return to Kerbin.

2) Fly into Kerbol on a 'Scientific Data Gathering Mission' to see how long it takes to blow up.

3) Try to get into some fancy orbits. I don\'t know anything beyond basic orbital mechanics, But I want to know if you can establish an orbit that goes from LKO or close to it, then goes to the Mun, 'Slingshots' a bit to correct the course to return to LKO and do it all again. In my head I think it could work, but like I said, I don\'t know enough to try it in a scientific manner. Theoretically, it would be very hard to do but could work. A use for that path would be a space station orbiting the two as a go between from the Mun to Kerbin.

Getting back is half the fun and more than half the satisfaction IMHO. I always try to keep my Kerbals alive, its more interesting that way, feels like you went somewhere and came home again.

For myself I join in challenges that I think I can\'t easily do but which could be done and then I find a way to do them and improve my piloting and ship designs.

.....now what, i really am not skilled for many of the challenges and i have many of the mods

I think you would be hard pressed to find anyone here who could say they were skilled when they started to play KSP. If they did say so, ask for their PhD in Physics. To see the fun of trial and error, Youtube has a lot of the best examples. In KSP, failure is an option, a hilarious one at that.

One thing I love about KSP is it challenges you to train yourself. Even with the community here sharing what they have learned, you still need to get out and do it yourself. And when you figure that out, and accomplish it, nothing ever beats that feeling. There is barely any other games out there that can offer you that.

Since you were open about using mods, I am going to throw a guess that you used them to get to the Mun. So here is your next challenge: Get there on stock only. It is possible, it is not improbable. It is quite fun.

You will appreciate what you learn now for when it becomes possible to send missions off to other planets in the Kerbol system. Welcome to the universe. We don\'t validate for parking.

Guest GroundHOG-2010

Space stations, atmo planes, find the monolith, etc

Fly to the north pole/south pole. Find a few of the bases. Orbital rendevous, get into geosynchronous orbit, Make a single stage rocket bigger than the launch pad, create a submarine... Endless possiblilitys, endless ways to play, endless goals (the reason I am still playing, but good on you for getting to the mun, something I haven\'t even attempted.

Fly to the mun, land.

Put another vessel in orbit around the mun that can push another object.

Launch the lander from the munar surface and rendezvous with the vessel in orbit.

With the Orbital ship, push the lander back home.

Almost like an Apollo mission.
