Budget - The new funds system

I had this idea in mind regarding the fund system in career mod and would be grateful if someone could create a mod that does it.

Funds turned into budget.

How this would work?

Now you are just 'buying' every part on the ship and launching precious credits into space, knowing you wont see a good portion of them.

With this mod you would have the program funding that can increase or decrease based on the outcome of your missions.

With the funding, when the ship or the part is destroyed, you get your money back, but if its stranded and still intact - you don't.

This would only limit the number of actual parts you can use, so in order to build more advanced and large ships or just more of 'em - you would need more funding.

It would also encourage players to destroy their debris rather than to leave them in orbit.

I like the idea, just not the destroying objects and recovering funds part of it. My thoughts:

Funds --> Budget :D

Funding increasing/decreasing based upon outcomes of missions :cool:

Parts destroyed = Money :huh:

A few weeks ago I was thinking of an idea (but didn't post it) for companies (in-game) giving you satellites to launch (they make them, would be extremely hard to procedurally program I know) as a contract and you build the launcher of the satellite based on the funds from your budget, which is where this mod would come in. Instead of rewards from contracts, you would have a budget. Anyway, I want to say more but don't know how to say it, so I'll finish up. Great idea, and I would download it in a heartbeat if put into motion. If anyone actually does this, I would be happy to be a tester!

I didnt quite follow... how is this different from the current funds system?

Sorry, I tend to talk without making sense. There would be a specific contract where a company (C7, Rockomax) would give you a pre-made satellite to put into a certain orbit. They pay for the satellite, but using the budget system you would have to pay for the launcher. It isn't really a different idea, just a contract that COULD be implemented. Anyway, just to recap, I'm all for the idea just not the "when the ship or the part is destroyed, you get your money back" part.
