Eloquently put post on imgur - Career mode

So this is my first post in quite some time.

Yeah yeah, we all have stuff we want for Kerbal career mode. Personally I want historic progression based on research and experimentation. Here's a nicely put imgur post that will help hopefully put mroe people on the same page. It's a space program, sure, but first you need an earth program to get there.

You're not alone in wanting this horndgmium, and mods exist that give a game style more like what you want (Better Than Starting Manned) but we'll not see this in the unmodded game as Felipe envisions it.

KSP is a space game about rockets and Kerbals, and without modding it'll never be "Kerbal Historic Human Space Program Re-enactment Simulator".

There's no "Better Than Starting With Rockets" yet that I know of, but maybe there should be

I agree- and hopefully KSP can provide a stepping stone of fun to people who aren't into Earth's space program, but after KSP they will be.

There's actually a few tech trees that do that. Here's one that does, IIRC.

That said, ironically enough I too am turned off by planes-first, but for entirely historical grounds; we had rockets that passed the Karman line before we had supersonic flight, for example.

And atmospheric rockets centuries before powered flight, for that matter.
