FYI there would be a lot more people doing this if you made it stock... mods just tend to limit the number of people.

I mean, mods are fine, just that the more you put in the fewer people you're going to get out. I'd draw the line at Kethane, if that. 100% stock would be fantastic.

I had a 100% stock parts station (v0.23.5), and I used it to assemble my 'Algernon' Ion probe... but then discovered the standard Clamp-O-Tron docking ports were too weak for such a big probe (with no way to reinforce them), and I didn't have Tech enough for the Sr. docking ports, so I de-orbited the whole mess. I'll try it again, soon, as I'm not far from attaining the Sr. ports.

Like the ISS, my Kerbin station was at 350km orbit... a construction platform. My Mun station was at 100km, and Minmus station at 50km... both science platforms for short-hops back and forth to the surface.

As for the poll, where to put a station? All depends on your goal(s).
