Multi-Directional fuel tanks?

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

Recently I\'ve been launching small satellites into orbit around Kerbal, but I wanted to go a little bigger and try a space station. Instead of downloading one I was trying to create one, however stumbled across a issue. In a lot of the space-station designs I have seen floating around the forum a almost always preset physical aspect is displayed. There are, what appear to be fuel tanks, coming out horizontally from the main body. For instance the below image:

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make fuel tanks come horizontally out from the main body of the rocket/space station... Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers,

TJ

They\'re using a node part. It is a six way cube that allows attachments to all sides.

There is one in Kosmos and one that is simply called the node.

I\'ll get the links.

*EDIT 1* Kosmos; http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=7178.0

*EDIT 2* The Node; http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=5881.0

Hope this helps.

You can also do this with any part, by using the cart.

Put one or two carts on your rocket at some crazy angle. Attach a part or assembly to it. Now move the assembly to some other part of your rocket and delete the carts. Voila! Instant crazy angle parts.
