Docking question

Recommended Posts

Hello fellow KSP players :)

I have a question regarding docking ports. I dont know if this question is even possible so thats why i put the thread in here.

The idea is this;

Step 1: Building a Space station (with docking ports) and making it orbit around Kerbal.

Step 2: building a rocket with extra fuel that docks with the space station.

Step 3: Building an SSTO, dock it with the extra fuel (by using multiple docking ports for stability), undock the entire thing (SSTO and the extra fuel) and fly it off.

Now what im bassically asking is this;

Is it possible to have multiple docking ports dock with each other at the same time? And is it possible do build feul lines in space?

Thanks in advance :)

Yes but it can be tricky to get it docked just right.

No, not without mods. However you can hold the MOD key (Alt in windows) and click two tanks and then transfer fuel without the need for a fuel line.

Well, not entirely correct. The problem is that you can only truly dock at one port and the other docking ports can only magneticly attrack each other. This means if you put some serious force on it, they will bent.

The only stock solution I know of it to use claws for your secondary attackment points. Non stock solution is to use dynamic struts or bigger docking ports
