Hence why I said "... or use any other rockets". I mean, even the HIIA launches off at first attempt...

You edited after I replied.

Maybe they should've hired the reliable Soyuz instead, or use other launchers they have... I'm just waiting after when it'll finally launches off. On top of any rockets.

(just to post)

Time is a resource in KSP, in real life it is fuel and money.

Since when is time a resource in KSP? In real life it is much more of a resource - we get what we get, no more and sometimes less.

It's not a comprehensive comparison, but here's the DIV-Heavy next to some other launchers for size comparison:

http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/media/180812/Comparative-diagram-of-eight-launch-vehicles-V-2-R-7

Of currently flying launchers, the Ariane 5 probably comes closest to being able to do this mission (DIV-heavy 28,000kg to LEO versus 21,000 for Ariane-5) - the Russian Proton is slightly less than Ariane.

Falcon heavy (as spec'd on paper) could most certainly do it (53,000 kg) and of course the SLS will one day hopefully send this thing around the Moon. There's probably also some paper rockets from China and Russia that could do it as well. The Angara A7 variant lists 35 tons as its LEO target, which translates to 31,700 kgs, roughly. The heaviest Chinese Long March 5 variant seems to be about 25t which is only about 22,000 kg.

And of course Energia could have done it, 100,000 kg to LEO. But that would have been silly.
