Debug Toolbar won't open.

Recommended Posts

In 0.90 I cant seem to open the debug toolbar.

Alt-F12 does nothing, Alt Gr-F12 does nothing, no modifier-F12 combination works. I opened the settings file to look at the key bindings, and there isn't anything there about the debug toolbar.

Anyone able to help?

UPDATE: Turns out my F12 is just plain not working. Is there anyway to rebind the debug toolbar to Alt+F9 for example?

Two things -- 1) what's your modifier key set to? If you're on Linux, it defaults to Right Shift.

2) If you're using a laptop, or another keyboard that has the function-row keys utilise additional functions via an Fn key, try adding the Fn key to the key combination.

The settings.cfg file does list function keys in plain text (such as "F5"). However, I think the debug menu F12 is hardwired in the code. So unless someone has built a mod for it, you can't remap.

Maybe try the Ease of Access controls in windows. I think there's an option for an on-screen keyboard. You might be able to toggle that on/off to bring up the menu, although that's not very convenient.

Cheers,

A possible alternative is some kind of auto-hotkey application that can trigger keypresses and/or mouse actions based on a recordable macro. They might be able to reassign F12 to something else in some (admittedly messy) manner.

Yeah, that's a good point. I use a piece of Logitec gaming software that allows me to build "shortcut" key sequences into a single keystroke (or mouse click). Something like that might also be an option.
