skyfire322
I'll be honest. I've been playing since 0.17, but I'm terrible with fuel management. I'm still practicing via sandbox mode, but I've had to use the evil combination of keys a few times to get through a mission. Has anyone else had to use it to get back to land, get back from a long mission, etc.?
Umlüx
i use it all the time. for part clipping.
kookoo_gr
Not me in career mode i don't use it , in sandbox though i sometimes use it for wack-a-kerbal
klgraham1013
I usually completely forget it's there. Anyway, aren't unforeseen "challenges" half the fun of this game?
Janos1986
Never used that. Not once. Never. I swear.I sometimes edit the quicksaves though
Highlad
I must admit, I have used it once or twice to infinite fuel a craft in situations where the craft was efficient enough to do the job but my incompetence lost me my fuel. Ive not used it yet in this version of the game except to take a peek at those delicious new biomes. Oh, and part clipping... That's a thing... Norpo
I had hack gravity still on from sandbox...and I was wondering why I was making escape velocity so easily..."oh wait I have hack gravity on"
Daze
Used only one time to boost a vessel stuck in orbit (i could EASILY deorbit it with EVA pack, but too much time )
temporalExile
I use it to do accept contracts during missions, and for part clipping on occasion
Sirrobert
Sometimes. When I send out a craft to catch an asteroid, it's usually only a small push out of Kerbin's SOI and then coasting right next to the border. This often causes the game to mess up and randomly throw my craft back into the SOI, completely messing up everything. If that happends I turn on infinite fuel and burn FAR out of the SOI, then turn around and do a VERY expencive course correction to catch the asteroid (followed by a VERY expencive velocity match, because the encounter is all skewed offcourse)
zarakon
I used it once...... to turn off the option to allow stock craftI wouldn't have any issue with using it to turn on biome display, but I certainly won't use it for infinite fuel or hack gravity
AcidSludge
I used it once to launch a big space station en bloc, which would have been too wobbly if assembled in orbit via docking.
worir4
i use it all the time. for part clipping. You can part clip in 0.90 without alt-f12 now!
Rolanvorxariat
I've used it for part clipping.ive Also used it for auto-completing certain contracts, example: exceeded 5km. Contract doesn't say it is complete. Da heck. (Opens f12 menu)
[email protected]
I use it fairly often, mostly for part clipping but occasionally for infinite fuel to make course corrections when timewarp sends one of my interplanetary crafts which had a very nice intercept off into deep space for no apparant reason. This happened to me just last night. I had an encounter with Minmus set up for a lander and I timewarped to the completion of another craft and when I switched back my orbit was so messed up it took over 500 DV to put me back on an intercept course. I don't cheat to save craft that I have doomed through inept or poor planning, crashes, failures, etc...but I can't tolerate having the Kraken toss my ships around. Captain Sierra
I had to use it once because I was splashing down below impact tolerance (so I should be safe) but it was splashing down and destroying my science jr, with about 30 science on it. So I did a quickload and summoned the power of hack gravity.
Dizzle
I use it when I've met the parameters of a contract but it doesn't end.
Slam_Jones
I use F12 all the time... because that's the Steam screenshot button Alt+F12 tho, never. At most I've installed HyperEdit to test some monstrosities in space, but never in career. If I do career, I'm doing it for the challenge. Alt+F12 negates that 100% for me
Special Agent Sigvan
Kerbal golf is a sport to me:"TO JOOL WITH YOOOUU"So yes. A lot.
WuphonsReach
I use it fairly often, mostly for part clipping but occasionally for infinite fuel to make course corrections when timewarp sends one of my interplanetary crafts which had a very nice intercept off into deep space for no apparant reason. Kerbal Alarm Clock (KAC) is a must-have for that issue alone. Just setup a reminder alarm and have it slow down the warp speed before you hit the critical point....I have not used the debug menu yet - but I did re-roll my career save in 0.90 from Moderate back to Normal because costs/payouts were too much of a mismatch and it was feeling too grindy. iBeej
Being completely honest? Never used it. In fact, I have been playing since 0.18 and seriously had no idea it existed until the asteroid redirect mission when I was watching somebody use it on Twitch. I refuse to use it. Because the crew on Apollo 13 didn't have an ALT+F12... neither does Jeb. Ha!
justidutch
I also have never used it, don't even know what it does!
StrandedonEarth
I've only started using it in beta, to complete a couple of contracts I took by accident and had no hope to complete. I Also started on hard and had to revert some launches because, er, it was a simulation, Ya, that's it, and had no margin in the bank. Now I just have Jeb in orbit with a bunch of batteries cranking out useless crew reports for cash. Hopefully soon I can unlock EVA and bring him home by getting out to push
Freshmeat
I've only used it for actual debugging when a mod went faulty, on for the occasion made and then deleted saves.
WWEdeadman
No. I only use it in sandbox, since, well, it's sandbox, screw carefully designing stuff around efficiency and fuel use, I build what I think looks good. In career however, I feel obligated to play without "cheating". I haven't really played 0.90 career yet, but I don't think I will find it necessary to use the cheat menu.
