Aligning parts in the VAB in .90?

In earlier version I was able to press V and snap parts so they perfectly aligned when placed next to each other. This let one perfectly and easily place radial decouplers around a fuel tank, to attach other tanks or boosters to it.

Anyone know where this option went in .90?

It hasn't gone anywhere As part of the overhaul the implementation was slightly changed though (mostly for the better)

Vertical Snap, that's the term I'm looking for. Vertical Snap no longer seems to work. I don't see anything about this in the Changelog, what's up with that, yo? And how does one do Vertical Snap in .90?

O.o that was in before 0.90? V was "angle" snap which served a different purpose - that's still in the game. In any case, use the offset gizmo with angle snap turned on; that does what you want, I think (hold shift for greater precision).

You was using Editor Extensions, this mod provided you Vertical snap (V), but:

Veritcal snap removed, new 0.90 editor does not have the same functionality. Currently working on new method of providing automatic vertical snap without having to use the translation gizmo.

You can snap to a 3D grid using the offset gizmo. Press [2] and make sure you have angle snap turned on, then move a part up/down with the arrows.

It takes a bit more effort than using the old vertical snap of Editor Extensions, but it should let you line things up properly, and is actually more flexible
