SIDR_Preview.png

Hello! I make parts for SIDR&SD. Originally for personal use, I decided just to put them here since the vanilla game is terribly lacking in parts! (for now)

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR THOSE UPGRADING FROM VERSIONS 1.0 AND LOWER

2 meter parts have been renamed to 1.75 meter. Due to sunday punch naming some of his parts the same as mine, I had to rename my parts internally as well. If you install these parts over installations of the old pack, you will have duplicate copies in your parts list. However, due to the renaming, old ships will not work. As a work around, use the duplicate part method mentioned previously to swap out parts one by one. It\'s not ideal, but it will have to do.

Download 1.3!

Please report any problems you find. Now with satellites!

Download Pod Replacer #1: Gemini/Mercury inspired

Download Pod Replacer #2: Unmanned control module

Pictures and details!

- AA-BB Linear Decoupling Strut

Similar to a normal decoupler, but made of scrap metal and a lot longer.

ss20110723161934.jpg

- SSH Series, Model 221 Solid Booster

After draining the water out, these big meaty boosters should work fine. More or less.

ss20110723152601.jpg

- HH-77 Insulated Fuel Tank

An orange tank from the HH-77 line of budget spacecraft parts.

ss20110723164943.jpg

- HH-77 Insulated Nosecone

An orange nosecone from the HH-77 line of budget spacecraft parts.

Also available with an attached parachute.

ss20110723162202.jpg

- Small Bootleg Command Module

Constructed of the highest quality scrap metal, glass bottles and used paper mache.

ss20110815195525.jpg

- GG-M4 Liquid Fuel Engine

Less engine, less safety. Burns through fuel at 1.5x speed, but has the same thrust and 1/3rd the weight of the LV-T30.

ss20110723162522.jpg

- TD-M9 Mini Decoupler

A much smaller version of a normal decoupler, weighing much less and being cheaper, at the expense of being fairly sensitive.

ss20110730163435.png

- CMM-96 Surplus Booster

Don\'t let it\'s legal status fool you, this is a wonderful booster. The only problem with it is it can only be mounted on the sides of things.

ss20110724025753.jpg

- HH-78a Large Fuel Tank

A large 2 meter tank from the HH-78 set of rocket parts.

ss20110724180522.png

- HH-78b Adapter

A large 2 meter to 1 meter adapter from the HH-78 set of rocket parts.

ss20110724180544.png

- HH-78c Adapter

A large 2 meter to 3 meter adapter from the HH-78 set of rocket parts.

ss20110726023954.png

- MPM-20 S.A.S Module

A larger SAS for larger rockets. Quite powerful and heavy.

ss20110724182057.png

- Medium Bertha

One of the most powerful engines on the market. It loves to overheat, eat fuel, and take long walks on the beach.

ss20110726024037.png

- AM-27 Nosecone

A fancy roundy nose cone! Very prestigious.

ss20110726024122.png

- KMX Industries MiniBooster

Usually in Kerbal constructions, parts are UPSIZED after having been found to be TOO SMALL. Not at KMX Industries. Instead, we make things SMALLER after complaints about them being TOO SMALL!

ss20110730163458.png

- Platinum Communications Model BXs-7

A small communications satellite, (hopefully) destined for Kerbin orbit.

ss20110727164012.png

- Platinum Communications Model BXs-9

A lightweight communications relay satellite built by Platinum Communications Ltd.

ss20110727210151.png

- And a hell of a lot more

Added small orbital adjustment engine

Added small hollow decoupler

Added 1m to 1.75 short adapter

Reduced decouple force on clamp and decoupler strut

Added radial flange

Added decoupler flange

Added docking claw (decorative for now)

Tweaked N1 stats a bit

Removed an errant .psd from the download

Added an unmanned payload guidance module

Added alt paint job for double length tank

Renamed all 2 meter parts to 1.75 meter

Fixed strake having no information

Added Nano SAS

Added Nano Decoupler

Added 1.75 to 2 meter adapters

Changed the stats for the GG-M4

Added two new two-meter engines

Added a two-meter double length fuel tank

Balanced out the large SRB

v0.81:

Tweaked 2m fuel tank amounts and weights to better fit between 1m and 3m fuel tanks from Sunday Punch\'s pack.

v0.8:

Added 2 meter detachable nosecone (currently fairly useless, will be better with KSP 0.9)

Added 2 satellite payloads to take to orbit (eventually will be compatible with the above nosecone)

Updated all nosecones to have almost 0 drag

v0.7:

2 meter SAS strength increased slightly

Tapered 2 meter SAS model so it can be stacked without z-fighting

Added half-height 2m fuel tank

I'll change that ASAP. Originally it was intended but I can switch it easily.

Yes please fix it. We can't add Heat Sinks and the Like onto them either. Keep Burning out Engines while hauling Retarded amounts of Fuel.

Working on an Energia inspired solid rocket booster:

High fuel capacity and thrust, cannot be stacked.

although energia had of course liquid boosters, but allright, I like the design so I'll let this sacrilege slip! :D

Well we'll just pretend they're full of liquid fuel.

Anyway, finished the booster:

Started work on some 1.75 (or something) meter segments:

But I am going to go to bed, and will resume work tomorrow.

Great parts man especially the Command Module but I have noticed one thing.

The HH-77 fuel tank seems to share fuel between tanks on the same stage. For instance if you build a rocket with 3 stock tanks & 1 stock LFR and then booster strap 2 HH-77's to it both with standard LFR's the fuel will drain from the first 2 stock tanks on the central booster before the HH-77 tanks start to be emptied. However the fuel will only move in 1 direction from the stock tanks in the centre outwards into the HH-77's and not back into the central booster. This has the effect of depleting the central boosters fuel before the strap on boosters and means you have to carry dead tanks for 1/4 of the first stage. You can get around it partial by doing an ATLAS and dropping engine but your still hauling a lot of dead weight. Is this the way the tanks are meantto work ?

At the moment, it's how the game is actually coded to use fuel, he's thinking of a fix I believe.

Oh, man, these are awesome. I started putting some parts together, stepped back, and realized it was an S-IVB. Now all we need is a 2m to 1m adapter, and then 2m to 3m adapters to go with Sunday Punch's parts. And if we can start turning those adapters into decoupler shrouds...

Can anyone say 'first KSP all-up Saturn V'?

Just realized I forgot to put info for the new engine in the thread. I'll add it soon.

Also, some planned pieces:

Apollo inspired command module lower half (functions like a controllable solid rocket booster)

Micro decoupler

2m hollow decoupler

Alternate 2m engines

2m nosecone

And when the features are supported:

Heat shields

Deployable solar panels and radiators

More command modules

I've been experimenting with different engines and tanks. I put a stock LFR under your 2m tank with a CC and 1m-2m shroud and that sucker went to 38km and burned for 2:20 on about 75% power.
