Need enthusiastic Suggestions...

Recommended Posts

Hi.

I've played hour-upon-hour of KSP and have basically done everything there is to do.

It's just not as enthusiastic as it used to be.

I am looking to record some funny footage of stupid things you can do in KSP and am looking for some suggestions...

Any ideas?

PS: Please tell me if this is the incorrect part of the forums for this sort of question, I have no idea what I am doing...

I always have a problem of perfecting my planes too ungodly levels, which in the end tends to side track me, from the space/ career stuff. Take my survey plane, simple enought when built (less then 24 parts and 6 tons.) I've now spent 2 whole days just trying to make it better, leading edge flaps...check, sweeping wings....check, but not recommended, insane maneuverability check. Using FAR And AJE check. But in all honesty...I bought this game for the planes:D the rocket science was just a big..BIG bonus.

This was the guy's first post remember.

Honestly I have pretty much done everything that was possible in stock prior to 0.90, at least in the sense of visiting/returning from every planet/moon a few times (except Eve, but because my computer can't handle the ship required to do it), with the minor exception of doing the interplanetary contracts in 0.24/0.25 (I finished the tech tree then got bored. :(). It seems reasonable to me that anyone who's been playing the game for a few months should have reached that point, assuming they learned to fly rockets/planes/etc properly of course :). I have a dropbox folder of screenshots going back to some time before 0.20 (I didn't track the versions before then), but it's far from a complete record of everything I've done. I could send you it if you really want me to, but it's not really relevant here. As for mods, I think you'd be hard pushed to find anyone who's done everything in every single mod (combination) ever.

Seeing as OP was asking for suggestions for fun stuff to do, I don't think it really matters if they provide evidence to back up their claim that they've "done everything".

As for you, I'm not picking sides here, but your correct.

200+ hours of KSP and 10 on the forums!

Seriously though, I rushed it.

PS: Seen danny too. Done all of his things xD I LOVE him.

I have logged 200+ hours on KSP and about 10 on the forums. I don't plan to use the forums much thus I just created this account.

Is all of the community like this? :(

Fortunately, no.

Everyone else: I've just cleaned this thread of a whole bunch of stuff that is not conducive to making any forum newbie feel very welcome at all. If it's not to do with answering the question, then don't answer.

I'm afraid I can't answer you with too many crazy ideas, as I personally prefer to build more realistic rockets and reenact real space missions.

However, the advice I have for you is this: do what you enjoy most in KSP, and you should find absurdity follows closely behind. Like to build planes? Try to fly one under the R&D bridge. Prefer rockets? What about a mobile launchpad? Or maybe try to orbit through a Munar Arch?

The key thing with making videos is to really enjoy what you're doing. So that's my advice: Have Fun!

super corny, i know

Upgrade the contracts to maximum contracts. Take EVERY part testing contract... and attempt to do them at once? :)

Go gliding on Duna, and attempt to land over 5k altitude? (Recently saw one from 5thhorseman doing that, was hysterical).

Assemble and plan a Grand Tour, with tons of random things (mini-Laythe Lander, Probe Shotgun for multi-biome research, etc...)?

Usually the game provides the challenge. Eventually you just have to challenge yourself. Find what's fun. :)

I've logged over 400 hours and I've not sent a kerbal to Duna yet... If you're out of stuff to do, you haven't discovered mods :)

Gotten to grips with (random list of ones I know of that add a lot of challenge and gameplay) Modular Kolonisation, Karbonite, Station Science, DMagic Orbital Science, Kerbal Construction Time, Interstellar, Real Solar System, Deadly Re-Entry, Ferram Aerospace Research, Extraplanetary Launchpads, TAC life support, SXT, Remote Tech? And more ;)

Also, in any new game, go career, kick science right down to 20% (10% if you have any mods that add science experiments) and funding to 40%. Suddenly you'll have to start doing things on the cheap, with sub-optimal technology. Much more challenging ^^

How about reenacting the "real" rocket failures?

Like these:

Starting KSP, my initial launches looked pretty much like that... So why not try to do them on purpose?

Hmmm. You know, I've never thought of that career one, that sounds good. I'll try that. As for everyone else, thanks for the suggestions, have already tried some. :P (That's why I've been away for some days)

Thanks!
