Interplanetary Orbits

Recommended Posts

Hey,

Sorry if this is posted somewhere else. So, I am having a problem with interplanetary orbits. When I leave Kerbin's sphere of influence my orbit drastically changes from relative to the sun and I am no longer on an intercept, sometimes over 1000 delta v off of my intercept with a target. Is there any way to correct for this?

This is when I leave orbit around Kerbin:

And this is when I enter into the Sun's:

Thanks

Slow down the time warp before going through the SOI boundary between Kerbin and Sun. Ideally you'll be wanting to go at normal or 5x warp. 10x or 50x usually isn't bad, but 100x or more can get catastrophic.

I see you have Kerbal Alarm Clock installed. I'd suggest turning on automatic SOI change alarms. Just have them slow down time and alert, no need to pause.
