  1. 1. Did we cause Squad to rush the 1.0 release annoucement??

    • I was sick of long waits between releases and I'm glad 1.0 is on the horizon.
    • I wouldn't mind a few beta releases, without a hard date, before 1.0 is released.

Maybe I'm not reading this right, but that sounds a lot like the second opinion in the poll, no?

I address that in the first sentence of my second little mini-paragraph. Actually, you quoted that.

KSP was a pretty content rich game in so called "alpha". We had docking, planets, conics and other stuff back then. Tbh the real beta release for me was 0.16 with its kerbals, EVA parts resizing and all that. I dont care what the updates are named and numbered. I think its a good time to go from Beta to full release. Its just that SQUAD didnt name it Beta earlier, and nobody would care about it being so short.

Sorry for this post for being a mess full of words. Its just how my mind works almost all the time. Hope you get what Im talking about

Compared to Minecraft in its Alpha KSP was more advanced. It just was missing few essential things, that havent been added in the correct order. The development is slightly chaotic but the game is great

The Mk3 spaceplane parts and a coming soon aerodynamics overhaul makes this game complete to me. There ain't no arguing with someone who doesn't care about the result of the argument. Besides, what do silly titles and connotations like "beta" and "release" matter anyway?

On a different (and less frivolous) note, congrats to Squad for taking their time in and doing it right, Love you guys!

Just a few days ago I saw a guy whining that the game has been in development for 4 years, so yeah, I feel that to some extent it has been rushed. People who are in favor of taking it slow tend to voice their opinions through realism complaints.

That's the part that's got me stumped. "Beta" vs "release" doesn't mean anything to us. We play the game regardless of what name or number they slap on it.

Nothing changes for us, so what's the uproar?

Best,

Because the perception changes to the outside audience; to penitential buyers and reviewers. Some may say reviews don't matter, but perception does. If KSP becomes known as an interesting game, hampered by bugs and a poorly built career mode, that can only hurt the games future. As well as any chance at a sequel.

... to penitential buyers and reviewers.

Try potential. I don't think anyone feels the need for penitence after buying this game, unless they are intentionally slaughtering Kerbals.
