The brightest spot light!

So, I had just gotten my first piece to my space station up into orbit. I extend the solar panels, and then turn on the lights because I was on the dark side of the planet. Not only did the lights light up my craft, it also lit up the planet.

Maybe Kerbals invented it because even if they are not affraid of an fiery explody death they are affraid of the dark.

This is a rare glitch that comes up from time to time. Sometimes, the direction of the illumination rotates slowly in the vertical plane. It used to happen a lot with Tosh's cart mod, but I've seen it in stock once or twice as well.

I try that. I wanted to light Kerbin and it never get dark anywhere on the surface. It happened all the time for me and I thought it was just game design not a quirk. Some calculations using internet searches excessively, trying to figure out the minium number of satellites needed and orbits to place them in.

The first satellite I launched focused on this endeavor did not light the surface. I figured I have choosen the wrong light and tried again. Long story short it has been hit and miss for me. I can send a satellite with lights and it illuminates the surface. The next one of the same design does not.

OLED = super lumens, tiny heat loss. You could definitely light up a planet from space with OLEDs [/amirite]

I remember it well. I used to stick carts on my stations just to do this.
