radial drogue chutes

Is there already a mod for that?

I searched a little but didn't found anything.

It would be useful for my laythe lander: I want to use chutes to avoid wasting too much fuel for the landing, but if I use the stock radial chutes, it just rip apart the lander; causing the kerbal to fall helpless toward their certain death

You can try the RealChutes mod. They don't deploy all at once, instead they open gradually to avoid rip offs. They adapt to all sizes and you can change them to apapt to different atmospheres. There's even a two-stage chute (drag chute first, gets cut and then the main chute open).

You need to configure them to be drouge. It's sort of hidden, go to the action group management and click on the parachute part.

There is a radial drouge included in NovaPunch, but that's kind of a huge download if you're only looking for one part.
