Docking help

Could someone take a look at this image and see if there is any reason why the two docking ports aren't docking? I think I'm aligned ok and the magnetic attraction kicks in but they just aren't docking. Thanks!

Are those from the Universal Docking Port mod? I've never used it before, so I don't know.

The only thing that I can suggest is rotating one ship and trying again. There might be a locking orientation.

Also, try turning off your SAS, and jiggling the ship a bit.

You could try using linear rcs thrust in order to trigger the docking.

I don't recognize those docking ports, could you show us a picture of a port alone?

They appear to be Docking Port Seniors. If they are modded parts (since they appear to have nifty little lights on them), perhaps those lights need to be aligned to dock?

If your two parts are wobbling around rather than docking, what has usually happened (at least to me) is that they didn't connect flush but at a very slight angle. Typically I'll give it a minute to work itself out. You'll then be able to either push the parts into a dock with some thrust, or the "kraken" will launch one or both parts to the next star.

The above is truth. I find in a wobbly situation that if I turn off SAS and nudge forward it allows the vessel to be pushed around a bit by the interaction and better realign to get the lock.

If they're seniors, you want to make sure you've got them right side out - it's pretty easy to stick one of them on upside down and not realize it. For reference:

Not much else I can say here; Foxster's right in that the OP's image is pretty dark to be able to tell what's going on one way or the other.

I remember the small docking ports from the StationScience mod, but what are those?

I didn't notice there were bigger ones.
