"Red Dawn" Super Bomber/Transport plane

Yay, time for a big build.

This is the Kerbals latest defence against foes unknown. The Red Dawn Super Bomber that's equally adept at transporting cargo during peace time.

The bomber variant comes equipped with 144 bombs in 2 rows which weighs in at a massive 1201 parts and a mass of 131.8 tons! The transport variant, (the same plane with an empty cargo bay), is a more reasonable 345 parts and weighs 88.9 tons.

The transport variant can carry 2.5 orange tanks worth of fuel and still get off the runway, (although you may need all the runway for this load as the plane will weigh 180 tons).

Hotkeys:

1) Toggle cargo bay doors.

Careful when pitching. Despite the size of the plane she is very manoeuvrable and can flip out if you decide to fly her like a stunt plane. She lands easily and you can use full brakes with no problems. Here are the flight pictures and bombing run. As you can see I am not a good shot.

Super bomber indeed . Although fully loaded my 4670k begs for mercy. Can always remove bombs though so not a negative. can scale it based on your hardware.

Great looking plane! The wings are especially impressive. Have you considered having the bombs drop sequentially through staging instead of all at once?

The wings are indeed a lovely shape but I see plenty of 'shimmer' as you clipped the wings. Try to move them so they only shimmer on the underside.

I would really like to see all these bombs hitting the ground . Do you think it could destroy the VAB?

I could easily change the staging so bombs drop 1 at a time or in pairs or fours. Might be more fun. I'm not sure if the bombs can destroy the VAB. I'll let you know if I can actually hit it!

I see what you mean about the shimmering. I don't think I needed part clipping as the editor let me move the wings pieces into that position. It was the only way to get that look at the wing and tail fin tips. Hopefully I can move them down so the shimmering stops as you suggest.
