Maverick_aus
Great idea for a challenge. I haven't had much experience making small planes, so it was a good learning experience. I opted for the non-hypersonic option, which I felt to me more in spirit with the OP, although I still went jet-powered, with the Juno, which I love so much. Thanks sal_vager for letting me enter! Behold: The Cricket! 638 points 100 (entry) + (640,041m (total) - 667m (takeoff roll)= 639,374m =) 639 (distance) + 2 (Kerbals) -9 (mass) - 23 (length) - 14 (height) - 47 (width) - 10 (parts) = 638 Point of interest: Interestingly, from the moment at which the engine cut out at max alt. of 13,835m until splash down, the craft glided unpowered for 46km! sal_vager
Thanks for the entry Maverick_aus, I've added you to the leaderboard But now it's time to close this challenge as the format is pretty broken by the forum upgrade, I'll have to make a new one
