Moving Shuttles around in the hanger

Recommended Posts

I am fairly new to KSP, going into my second day playing now. and i am working on some shuttle designs.

Somehow my shuttle got pushed way forward, almost to the point where its out the door.

I would like to simple move it back to center. One way i have tried is looking at it sideways, grabbing it with the mouse while holding shift and using the arrow keys. This does move the ship back, but also pushes it to the side wall.

Is there any words of wisdom? Some light that can be shed on this? I kinda have a lot planned, or a lot planned to figure out, lol, and i would rather not waste time on such silly issue. I spend enough time just trying to find the right angle to connect 2 items, but thats a whole nother topic lol.

It's a little tricky but if you angle the camera just right, grab the root part and hold shift, you should be able to move it back to the center. You may have to do this several times from several angles to get it just right.

Moved to Gameplay Questions.

Also that can be a bit annoying. Have you tried grabbing the object and hold (I think) the right mouse button while moving the mouse? That should shift the camera's lookat position around while the object moves too. Could be the middle button, been a while since I did that.

Good luck finding out a solution in any case. And welcome to the forums!

This would be a great idea for a new construction gadget button. Click a button that behaves similar to the offest but instead of offsetting the part, it moves the entire craft based on the root part relative to the VAB/SPH.

EDIT:

I went ahead and made a suggestion thread.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
