valentina goes to eve

Majestic beast!
Is this your first manned visit and return from Eve?

As for suggestions.
You could probably do the whole thing alot lighter by putting the parachutes and landing legs on decouplers and stage them off when you ascent.
Theres a good change you'll need quite a few less rocket boosters that way. Also you go on a direct Eve escape trajectory. It is alot more efficient to do a gravity turn and go straight into low Eve orbit.

Oh, and you must go back to Eve because Valentina lost her wallet.

yes, its the first manned mission, but it took several weeks to build the final working version.

ok, maybe the parachutes can be decoupled before the launch,
but legs, batteries and all the other stuffs are already on the external stage that comes decoupled after few seconds.

I didn't know the direct escape trajectory was a lot less efficient than going into low orbit, thx
I did it both the times cause no atmosphere manouvers to do with big ships, you know...
..and also I though that a vertical escape direction from eve was reducing the drag cause of the shorter distance the ship have to fly into atmosphere.

edit: thinking about the ascent trajectories, I'm now wondering:
I presume there is an optimal trajectory for each planet depending on their atmosphere type, can I find some XY charts somewhere?
an autopilot will be so awesome...any mod?, after all even real astronauts do not manually drive on ascent.

thx for moving me in the correct section,

interesting purpleivan! its a giant cube with wheels!
can you please make a zoom on the stairs near the top of the tanks where the kerbals have to turn back and bring the ladder?
I tried myself with this solution but my kerbals falls down and explode.

Did I hear someone ask for an overengineer? :D

Jokes aside, that's an impressive monster to land on Eve and return. I reckon you could do the mission with only about 2% the mass, but sometimes it's fun to scale up :)

yes...sometimes it's fun.. but not in this case, I've lost a lot of time to do it, and the ship is still an huge slow pachyderm.
you're talking about to plant a flag on eve with a 100 tons ship? I'm now curious 'bout it, share please.

One thing that many do to save a lot of mass with Eve is to drop a craft that is only landing and re-orbit capable. Leaving a return-to-Kerbin mothership in orbit. Something like this:

A typical craft like this is around 30-50t. You can do it with 1/2 that but it gets into the "specialist" area.

(PS: Loved the vid music!).
