Lol, I feel like I helped start a thing. The B9 Battlestars! Anyway I will create a class system for you HatBat, expect it today or early tomorrow morning. I have some experience with military design( I worked on propellants for tank shells and some missile projects as well) and it's also a hobby for me. I'll send it to you and you can copy&paste into the OP.

Sorry, I guess I was being a little confusing there. What I mean is: I'm having to guess which category the ships fit into using the system I've already created under the Ship Requirements section of the OP. Class is a completely different thing that I'm not really taking any notice of as it doesn't affect the rules for each different submission like category does. As I said earlier, if you think your ship fits into a certain category: then you're free to put it in there and follow the rules of that category, but you must be reasonable and careful when deciding because if I decide that you chose the wrong category and switch you too a different one... then it means you may have to redesign your ship following the different mod related rules that come with every category. And that could be a real pain in the ass. However when choosing the class for your ship you can be as creative as you want because class doesn't make any real difference to how you build your ship as far as the submission rules are concerned.

So to summarise: I'm not in need of a new class system 2SPOOKY, what I need is for people to go back and make it clear what category their ship fits into using the system under the ship requirements of the OP. An extra system defining class might be fun to try but it doesn't effect the submission at all, and may just be extra confusion.

I plan on adding 3 more craft tomorrow as well as making some minor edits to the manifests so you will need to re-download them. I ll let you know when everything is updated.

Can't wait for the new ships, I was so impressed with the 'StarFighter' submission, that it's probably going to replace the Raptor fighters I 'borrowed' from Rune to use in the new carrier. Oh, and you might want to add a download for .txt for the manifest. I'm afraid I don't actually have Word. I've always used Photoshop or Adobe Story for writing xD

Ok I just found a work around so I ll update both manifest files as txt. later today.

I ll be adding a tank to the regular files and a transport and ion glider to the other file. After that I might take a break from adding ships for a while unless I get a huge dose of inspiration.

BTW Is there anything specific you want me to try to make? I can't promise anything but I can try.

Well, adding some additional modular/easily reloadable stock weapons on the StarFighter would be great. As having only modded weapons on a ship can make combat a little boring sometimes.

You're right about confusion HatBat, it's impossible to make one with the terminology of today's naval classing system. Each one has a specific role such as anti submarine or dedicated missile carrier. It is difficult to translate it into KSP warships like this one.

But I managed to do it!

B9 Battlestars

Carriers

Escort Carriers

Battleship

Battlecruiser

Destroyer

Frigate

Corvette

Heavy Fighter

Carrier based fighter

These are the basic terms I have come up with, I am making a chart with engine and part specifications and I'm collecting data on the part counts and delta V, as well as engine and weapons mounted. It's actually going to be extremely helpful. I promise :)

Thanks, now I know that my Victory class is too heavy to be a battleship :D

EDIT: Terra Nova weighs 19694830 tons, is it still just a dreadnought?

That system was never used. Bannon's was the one in use.

Engine type

IE – Ion Engine (All Ships with Ion Engines as a primary propulsion system fall under this category)

LE – Liquid Engine (All Ships with Liquid Fuel Engines as a primary propulsion system fall under this category)

AE – Atmospheric Engine (All Ships with Liquid Fuel Air-breathing Engines as a primary propulsion system fall under this category)

H – Hybrid (All Ships with a hybrid engine setup fall under this category)

Following this system, the baseline Chimera would be designated MMHI-V01 being a modular interplanetary military ship which happens to also fill multiple roles (Direct combat ship and Carrier) and is the first ship of the series. The Firefly on the other hand would be MMLO-F01IE being an orbital light strikecraft with the capability to mount additional modules that is the first in its series. Of note the [special Designation] for this is for the type of engine used by the original Firefly with IE denoting Ion Engine Propulsion as I'm also developing an LE variant.

All of this of course is just a suggestion and in many ways, is still WIP so I'm also sharing this so that it can be improved upon and modified if necessary.

Oh, sorry went of topic there.

Just added the new manifest. Crafts downloads not available but will be soon.

Please let me know if the text edit files work this time.

Edit: added the tank in the atmospheric file and the transport in the other file. I ll add the ion glider later

The new additions look great and the manifest works... sort of. The majority of the text is located in two lines and it's surrounded by code that I think is due to the way formatting works in Pages or whatever you used to write this one. Here's a fool proof guide for how to use media fire instead, all you need to do is copy paste the manifest :P

I copied everything I wrote on the pages and pasted it to textfile. Honestly I really don't know what else to do.

Also I found another mod that might be interesting. Caterpillar tracks. Basically, its tank treads. I ll see what it looks like on the alpha and give you a pic if it looks and works good.

Edit: OOHHH ok I ll try that out later. I ll PM you first to see if I finally got it right before I post it

And congrats on 5000 views

The UKN has produced a new fighter outfit for carrier combat. The M24 Sparrow is a light, agile fighter used for carrier versus carrier combat. It has 2-50 cal machine guns and 4 missile pods.

They're from BD Armoury. However I did say that the missile related functions of the mod were only permitted for ground support. So they might not be staying on there, it depends how powerful they are. I've yet to test them.
